If a bunch of Italians went and tried to make an album out of twenty-or-so English words they learned from metal albums, it would sound like this. Hilarious, charming, and yet, it's still darn good music. Even the parts in Italian are pretty self-explanatory (Pino, for instance, is funny with or without the language barrier).

Best Metal band ever. Just like they said.

Nanowar is just fantastic. The best parody metal band ever.

This is essentially Spinal Tap, but updated a little bit. Plenty of talent, great humour.

deserves to do well. One of my next projects is producing a new metal act, so I'm trying to get myself into the vibe (i'm from folk/dance & r&b)

There's also hints of Queen in here, particularly the Brian May style harmonised guitars.

I'm now practically teetotal (reformed alcoholic) but this is the stuff that would sound really great after two or three cans of Tennant's Lunatic Soup.

Full of chiches yes, but I particularly like the joining bits between the metal tracks..

and I love the fiddle (or is it a Gizomotron?)

Rock On....

When art defines itself in technical terms from within a work of art, then it becomes meta-art. Accordingly, when metal music defines itself in the same way from within the songs of an album, it becomes meta-metal. And when a generous dose of humor is blended in the mix, then we have parody at its best, making merciless fun of metal music while paying comprehensive homage to it at the same time.

The first smile is born when looking at the cover, with its caricature of something that looks suspiciously like the Village People. Then the very first track attacks, with more or less the periodic table of metals recited in Bohemian Rhapsody style vocals. What follows is a parade of humorous references to the cornerstones of hard rock, symphonic metal, progressive metal (almost all variations of metal) music, bands and song titles.

But what is admirably achieved in the middle of this delirium is a balance between parody and quality. The result is (very) amusing, but also ambitious in terms of artistic value. It is a joke that makes you laugh to tears without being ashamed of it.
