Ok I'm reviewing this one album, but in fact it's a blanket review of all his stuff...
I have reviewed a few Spirograph albums and since then they have been re-uploaded so the reviews have gone.
I will now do my bit to point you, the reader, towards a very good electronic producer "Spirograph".
This is the kind of music that I fail to categorise and was once termed IDM. IDM sounds good as an acronym but the actual words it stands for are a little weak. It is basically using dance music equipment in a less formulaic way - eg not depending on the 4-4 beat, builds, naff vocals or other traits of dance. The result being something to listen to like music, rather than dance to like a stoned stoner.
Negatives that came positive - Spirograph uses more piano than I would wish for and sometimes you can hear the quantizing the computer applied - yet he proved to me that, on the whole, it can be done well.
He has formed a style for himself which is not out and out unique but can be spotted as his and thats a big positive for him - I can tell I'm listening to a Spirograph tune instantly even when playing lots of similar music on shuffle. He has a sound thats his.
I don't normally write this much and we can all see why - it's because i don't write that well - so now I leave it to the music.
This is his Professional Sample and from here you should no doubt come back for more and download his other stuff too.
