Why must you make such excellent music, and not tour where I live?
Why must you release it all for free so I have no excuse to not listen?
Why must your songwriting be so damn good I can't turn this album off (don't ask how many times I've had this album on repeat)?
Why must your singing match the music so perfectly that I find it hard not to sing along at work?
Why must you make the track "BorderBlaster" so achingly sad and beautiful that I have trouble listening to other music now?
Why must you play the banjo so well that I find myself driven to spend time away from family and friends practicing my 5 string?

Why Josh? WHY?!?!!

You're an evil man. Please keep it up. :)

(...and hurry up and tour Toronto. Gah! How selfish to keep yourself elsewhere! I'd recommend the Hillside music festival *hint* ;) )

Josh, an exceptional album and a great follow up to your others, loved every minute of this fun, energetic, sad, hurt, compassionate, sorrowful, easy to listen to, feel good, heartfelt, relaxed, good, grace album. That was light on my ears and good on my heart and soul. To check out and truly saviour and enjoy. Fantastic, charismatic, real live emotions felt and saw, let alone heard, awesome compelling, inspirational, strong vocals with good lyrics, interesting, heartfelt, wholesome, and passionate and sometimes jolly and catchy as well on top. Never a dull moment had listening to your album. I loved the way you could change the tone and feelings of each track, from happy to sad, to melancholy to hard and dramatic, to heart rendering.

Best artist on jamendo.com! Wonderful album. Best Song = Under the Stairs.

Woodward should be really really proud of this fantastic album. First, he has such a great voice, which is perfect for the sensitive bittersweet lyrics. He has hes music down to a science...the perfect melody, perfect lyrics, perfect accompaniment and even the instruments he uses to add highlight are perfect. His harmony brings the hair to an end. I was mes mesermized by this album, Breadcrumbs (Which by the way is the perfect title.)

Today is the first day I've had the pleasure to listen to Josh Woodward...I think it's the beginning to a long relationship :)!!

Thank you Josh, for the music!

awesome, heavy on my ears!

I stumbled upon Josh about 7 months ago and haven't looked back. Breadcrumbs is incredibly uncomfortable to listen to. Really and truly, none of us enjoy our own heartbreak, let alone the heartbreak of another. But despite this flaw, the human heart is carried so tenderly in Josh's music, that pouring your tears into your hands comes easily and feels safe. Breadcrumbs is full of tragedy and redemption. Josh is, of course, a talented musician...but Breadcrumbs shows us, once again, that his true calling is that of a lyricist and writer.

Personal favorites of Breadcrumbs:

"Under The Stairs" (need a little self-loathing music to getcha through that last slice of humble pie? "Under The Stairs" is ideal.)

"Private Hurricane" (Needs to be heard and felt...this is a must.)

Thank you Josh for another excuse for me to waste hours of gas, driving to and fro, just so I can listen to your music and unwind a little bit.

This Josh’s release is one of his finest – very much keeping up with the style and efficiency of Not Quite Connected and Dirty Wings. The mood on Breadcrumbs is very switfly balanced between folk/americana melancholy and more alternative (maybe even a bit, but really, just a bit experimental) energetic moments. I suppose people that enjoyed earlier albums from this artist would love most of the tracks here, but my top three favourites are: Overthrown wioth a beginning very much similar to Kings Of Leon compositions (that would be something, Josh Woodward in a KOL style), but later on going into this familiar Josh’s soft storytelling, and two last pieces: Ghosts with a really great, dark atmosphere and one of the best guitarwork from this musician and I’m not Dreaming which is in fact a zenith of Woodward’s melancholy. If the whole LP were that way songs mentioned above, it would be definitely a top jamendo album. Now, it’s nine out of ten for me, and I’m still waiting for this Josh Woodward definite record.

Stay cool,

Gz

Superb work, Josh. Keep it up.

Very good albums!!!

I am no fan of 5-stringed instruments (well, with the exception of those that have five really thick strings and that stomach-bumping sound...you know!). So some of the tracks really were not my favourites.
Still I must admit that this album is very well done, from harmony, to melody, to overall sound. And the lyrics, of course.
There is something in these pieces that appears to be heard before, somewhere, somehow. Definitely the best of it. But... nothing in particular can be mentioned. Something from "Del Amitri"? "Eagles"? "Pink Floyd"? There is just that limited number of notes and chords. And with so many people having made music in the history of humanity it is hardly possible to come up with something that has never been done before...
Which are my favourites, then? Sure. "Private Hurricane" and "I am not Dreaming". The first for the unexpected guitar riffs. The second... Ah, the second! All of it. Sorry, it seems I am with the dark (not the stoopid). And so is that song.
Josh, come to Latvia. Let's make a jam session together!
