"Her voice celebrates the music with a bluesy rock-gospel intensity; her controlled vibrato, silken rasp, and powerful projection rivet your attention. The album's songs are recorded, live-off-the-floor, on Winter's eve in Canada by Engineer & Producer Larry Anschell, (Pearl Jam, Sarah McLachlan, k-os), who captures the magic at his Turtle Recording studio by the shore in White Rock, British Columbia.

Excellent Encore

This is a fantastic collection of traditional Christmas songs.

As always with Allison's music, both the instrumental and especially vocal music is amazing. One of the things usually missing from an album composed of well-known songs is a distinct measure of originality. Allison Crowe does an excellent job of adding her own unique flavor, a very freeform meter, that is characteristic of all her work.

I would be even more pleased if the license allowed derivative works, but there is no doubt I will be playing this album incesantly at Christmas time.

Once again Allison, please come to Virginia and sing.

Allison Crowe has a force of personality and voice that shines out in this wonderful Christmas album. This is definitely on my list of good "Tidings" this Christmas season. I can't get over how dynamic Allison's voice is and how well it fits with these lovely songs. What a beautiful gift she has and has shared with us.

P.S. Twenty stars for "What Child is This?" wow
P.S.S. Thirty stars for "O Holy Night" my absolute favorite song. I'm going to listen to that one a few hundred times.

I actually bought about half this album off of emusic because she puts covers of other peopple's songs on there. Her cover of Sarah McLachlan's Angel was just beautiful.

The Vocals bring that flair that is rarely seen when it comes o recreating a song and making it ones own. She very nicely hits the highs and lows without going overboard. When you add the lovely sounds of the piano with her voice, it is nothing short of breathtaking. Very highly recommended to anyone that loves traditional Christmas music. As they say "It's music to your ears." And this definitely was.

Your voice was melody to my ears as soon as I pressed played. They way you sang silent night reminded me of going to my church for xmas service. You sang the song exactly like the person sang it at the church. I like how soothing your voice is and how it carries. I give you two thumbs up.

This is a fantastic collection of Christmas songs.
I am going to play this all chistmas season.

Silent Night soulds like something you would hear at the end of a movie.

Alison with Christmas coming nearer, as the weeks fly past,quicker.. I thought, I would check out, your album, traditional songs.. And wow.. what a phenomenal, powerful,captivating,compelling,album it is with that heartfelt,open, honest voice you have, with heart and soul, mixed into it as well..Your voice and lyrics made me think of times gone by with loved ones passed away and new Christmas ahead.. And your album in general made me feel blessed, because I'm lucky to still be hear on earth.. To check out an amazing, compelling voice like yours on Jamendo. Bless you.. And to reflect and think of loved ones gone bye and the ones, I still have today and got on earth..God Bless you..
