Album description

The first song in this EP collection was recorded live-off-the-floor, in April 2003, by Rick Erickson of Seacoast Sound in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. The six songs that follow "Lisa's Song" were recorded live-off-the-floor one afternoon on analog tape by Engineer and Producer Larry Anschell, at his Turtle Studios in White Rock, B.C. Allison Crowe and bandmates, Dave Baird (bass), Kevin Clevette (drums), stopped into Turtle while on their way to perform in Seattle, Washington, USA for "Jammers" - fans of Pearl Jam converging from all across America and the world. The essential truth of the trio's July 2001 session  is captured in these live, raw, grooves.

Please visit Lisa's Page @ http://ww.allisoncrowe.com/lisaspage.html to learn about Lisa Marie Young, the inspiration for the title song.

This album is a great (though a bit short). "Lisa's Song" is a beautiful song and deserves to have the attention it gets from the name of the album. "Crayons and Ink" is a song to also fall in love with. This album contains two songs that are also in the album "Secrets" but on "Secrets" they were slowed down. The faster tempo of "Midnight" was perfect, and comparatively, the version on "Secrets" was weak. However, I don't feel the same way about the song "Philosophy". The sped up tempo made the song sound a bit awkward, which is why the album gets a rating of 9 stars from me and not 10.

If you haven't tried any of Allison Crowe's music, your missing out.

Great voice, love the album.......

Their is an emotional journey in this album, starting with the first track, "Lisa Song" due to Lisa Marie Young, a friend of Allison's since high school, went missing in the early hours of Sunday, June 30, 2002. Allison has true talent and ability to convey emotions in her music, like she has done with heartfelt, emotions in Lisa song.

You feel the power, passion, love and lost in all her other tracks as well. Allison has the ability to touch people emotionally in the hearts with her music, vocals and lyrics.
