"What Can We Do" ist "top"!!!!!

But I love the whole album - superb work!

And the first track is realy cool!

This is not the type of music I listen to normally, however, after I played this album I was very impressed with the quality. The blues guitar is amazing and the vocals, although I don't speak french, are very impressive. I would recomend listening to this album all the way through before you pass it up.

I will start by saying that this is not quite the music I would listen to all day every day. still I listened to this album twice. It IS captivating. My taste obviously differs from that of those who have written their reviews here (I make music that is close to that I like to listen to see/hear here: http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/50068?refuid=685015), still it cannot deprive this album its professionalism and air.
The air has something slightly in common with that of some other performers. Sombres Matins made me think of Dire Straits (until came Lobogris and tear it all apart!), some other pieces evoke thoughts of Vaya con Dios or Beautiful South. Well, not that this could be considered imitation. Just the number of notes and chords in music is so limited...
One thing I consider inappropriate: programmed rhythm. However well you do it, it still remains cold and unresponsive. The Quest for the Holy Grail. Listen for yourselves and you might see what I mean.
But a project like this must be enormously rewarding to participate in. Just the feel is worth more than anything else. Alas, all I can is sing and play mouth harp, not especially rare talents these days. But I'll keep dreaming... Listening to this album.

Wow, as soon as you start, to check this amazing, euphoric, compelling, outstanding album out, you feel the itch, in your heart and soul, to move your foot and toe tap to this jolly, fun, entertaining, really interesting, compelling without a doubt mesmerising-ly, awesome pop, rock, bluesy, soul filled, wonderful singing guitars music, that has humour, class and style all rolled into one nice adorable package as this album is..

That is one amazing thing about Jamendo, it's the exceptional collaborations you get between musicians, singers and composers, all in one great places, and the superb beauty, they can make and show us all. The listeners and fellow musicians on Jamendo in general. For example a awesome example is this bewitching album.

I would loved to thank everyone, who took part and was part of this profoundly infectious, delightful, imaginative, creative album..

ps. this album really does make your heart and soul sing. and feel so alive and good all over... after checking this out.. you have been warned..

At the beginning of all things, there is promise, there is potential.

Jamendo began in January of 2005. I liked the site immediately -- and it has only gotten better as it has matured.

This album is clear evidence of that. Yvalain and Friends: a network, a grand collaboration of artists. Music only made possible by this site; music only made *available* because of this site.

As someone who likes jazz, blues, progressive rock, and "old school" melodic / harmonic music, I've so often been disappointed by commercial music ... "the music industry." Exactly so: it is now like a factory, churning out generic, disposable products.

In contrast, this album is hand crafted, a work of artisanship.

As I listened to this album, I felt so many things. I can trace the ancestry of the songs, I can hear the fine thread of tradition and shared vision that was woven into them. But at the same time, I hear that this is something *new*. I feel like I'm hearing a radio broadcast from the world I wish I could have lived in.

I always said that I wanted my own music to inspire others. I have to congratulate all of you who made this album: you have inspired me. I know it was a lot of work, and there were probably a lot of obstacles to overcome -- but it was clearly worth it.

At the beginning of things, there is promise and potential. As time goes on, though, there is maturity, accomplishment, and reward. All three are here. Jamendo has grown up, and this is part of the first great harvest.

Great album, my favourite is Musical friendship

Wow - very nice! This is a super special album, like a gift or a treasure it is that wonderful. Great vocals; great songs; superior guitars; passionate and gorgeous.

Oh - I loved "Bye Bye" what a beat, what a wonderful melody. Karen T. has a such a soft lovely voice. And then I had such fun listening to "Gettin' Stuck" with Jacques Delorenzi singing this peppy fun song. And then of course Yvalain and PeerGynt on those fantastic guitars. How could anyone resist this album. My feet won't stop tappin'.

I think my favorite song is "Musical Friendship" because (not only because the music was so fantastic) but because it is so exalting to see (hear) these musicians team up and use their creative energies to compose, play and sing such good stuff for the rest of us.

Wow that Franck Simonneau can play a supremely mean guitar, also, as he did with Maya de Luna singing so beautifully in "Je Vous Suis." "I've Had Enough" was very mellow and a slow down in tempo from the preceding tracks also very nice. I especially love the relaxed tempo of "What Can We Do" with the soft sweet melodic vocals of Karin T. and the hard-edged bright guitar of Jacques D.

"The Peaceful Guy" was played as a bluesy, jazzy tune, with an addictive rhythm and melody. And my lord that guitar is good. All the guitar players on this album are outstanding. I almost lost my laptop when my feet started tapping to "Gothic School" another favorite of mine - I love that rhythm - that is so catchy. I'm not sure I would want to teach in that school.

I'm sorry if I'm babbling and not making any sense as I'm listening as I write. I am so enthused about this album.

I loved "Pourquoi Pas" and what seemed to be point and counter-point with the silky vocal of Karin T. and powerful guitars. The poignant "Beyond the Night" sung with strength by Jacques was really beautiful and a catchy tune. "The Quest for the Holy Grail" had some humor to its composition.

These guys obviously had such fun putting this album together. I am truly proud of these fantastic musicians we have on Jamendo: generous with their giftedness, and talents. Thank you Yvalain & Friends for sharing your masterpiece with us. I plan on enjoying this album again and again. This album cheered me up and puts me in a positive mood.

And "Clair Matin" just melted my heart.
