Neuroleptic has a very unusual ambience to it, almost one of suffering, and the rhythm, cymbals and screeching synth didn't do much for my nerves!-) Killjoy start off in a quite jolly fashion, something almost traditional to the tune, with twenty five people making up the rhythm with strange, guttural noises. But when the boat comes in it's turned into a more palatable track, still with an unusual structure which is ultimately very effective and enjoyable.

Entering Astrospace (Remix) is much more dramatic, with a slow percussion and almost fierce synth melody, over a spacious bass base. Beat steps in at mid-pace and breaks into a drum layer. And the track tails off like your oxygen is running out slowly. Trees Shaped Like Papercuts (Edit), has a curious sharpness to it. Very slow structure filled with a selection of strange noises and slightly off-kilter synth, almost drunken.

In the end it makes the grade, and I'd be tempted to throw in 'experimental', there were some sure signs of pushing at sonic and musical boundaries. Nice EP.
