Album description

Slow meditative soundscapes inspired by Native American culture.

Spirits of Ancestors EP was selected for the soundtrack  of  OCEAN OF AN OLD MAN  -

an award-winning film that represented India at International Film festivals in Pusan, Cairo and Breda.

3 additional tracks that were composed especially for the film are available here.

Audio quality of the music offered on Jamendo in best case reaches 190 kbps, which is quite reasonable for evaluational purposes but definitely not enough to experience the richness of original sound (1411 kbps). If you'd like to feel how this music sounds for real you can obtain a lossless FLAC version of this album on my website.

A new compilation of the best tracks is available now on iTunes and Emusic

This album is slightly different than other SaReGaMa's works - that's for sure. But, firstly, different doesn't mean worse. This recording is of equal very high quality. And secondly, this difference is not so big. Therefore, in my opinion, there is nothing to justify the harsh and dissapointed review of KraftiM and people who agreed to his review.

KraftiM's arguments are absurd when one takes into consideration that he likes other works of SaReGaMa. He was nearly put asleep? This album is far more varied and dynamic than e.g "Bodhi Tree". It's " darkish experimental"? What a crime! Is it bad to experiment? Should all SaReGaMa's albums be identical? Is all dark music bad, simply because it is dark? Should all tunes in the world be full of pink fluffy bunnies and shiny happy faces? THIS would surely put ME asleep. KraftiM complaints about "annoying crickets"... Hello, anybody home? Aren't sounds of nature one of the most common and widely used features of ambient music? The tuba-like flute fits the other elements perfectly. And so on...

So, to sum up, this is a very successful attempt at creating slightly more dark music, in accordance with the title. When you close your eyes you can almost feel those spirits gathering around you, which is a clearest evidence that SaReGaMa succeeded in what he had planned. Thank you for sharing your beautiful music.

One thing I don't like is the fourth track, but the reason is it's too short, so the tune doesn't last long enough to develop properly and listeners don't have enough time to feel the mood. The album could end after the third track.

This is one of the best, if not the best ambient album I've heard on Jamendo. This was inspired and the end result is truly breathtaking. Last year I read the book, "The Teachings of Don Juan: A Yaqui Way of Knowledge", by Carlos Castaneda, and I only wish I would've had this to play in the background while I read that book. This album is highly recommended.

I've really enjoyed this album, it's extremely sensational and atmospheric, i can't choose one favorite track, they're all appealing and interesting.
the music took me into a spiritual world of ancient civilizations, i felt i could almost smell the air and touch the ground, it succeeded in isolating me from the traffic of my modernized life and transcended me into magical realms as the music flows, the chanting is superb, it really made me chill.
the sound quality is good, but the mixing output could use minor refining, I'm not much of a sound technician, i only got my ear to judge! and that's what i think :)
Excellent album SaReGaMa, keep it coming.

Nikila Wrote: "You dream of a strange travelling? Manage to be not disturbed. "

I want to disturb you, because I too want to accompany you !

reznamor Wrote: "...one of the best ambient-artists on Jamendo! You need more information?...well,listen to his music and you know what i mean!
It's always great...always a pleasure to listen to his music!
Of course 10 points!"

KraftiM wrote: " Where is the real SaReGaMa?"

Are you blind ? Force yourself through your minds, come out of yourself, give 28 min to this work, and you will find him standing before you !

I think very few would think of making DARK AMBIENT music !

Now, such great adventure, such great description of 'Yage'. I get goosebumps when I listen to this album in a dark room ! Its very realistic, I should say ULTRA REALISTIC.
Peyote is superb. The depth and clarity of the songs are awesome. I didnt find any problem with the recording (It was written, there is some distortion).

People nowadays have INSTANT COFFEE, INSTANT FOOD, but this album creates a new definition, that is of INSTANT MEDITATION !!

Just close your room, gather some courage, switch off the lights, close your eyes, sit back in your chair and meditate for 28 minutes.
This is the moral of the story.

He escuchado éste álbum unas 10 veces.
Gracias.

This is a good ambient album, no doubt. Soundscapes drift like landscapes around the traveler. The emotional transitions are smooth and tender, the sounds are soothing. I do like listening to this, but I think it could be even better. Imagine if this fantastic music should be rather based on "up-front" themes, as in melodic themes, chord progressionsor sound hooks. Wouldn't that be just a little more interesting? Indeed a great ambient album, but a little too much harmonic emotions and genre typical sounds for my taste. The point of ambient music shouldn't be to not surprise the listener ;-)

You dream of a strange travelling? Manage to be not disturbed.
Then sit down or lie down and listen to this music...

Vous rêvez d'un voyage hors de l'ordinaire? Arrangez-vous pour ne pas être dérangé.
Ensuite installez vous confortablement et écoutez cette musique...
