English :

Painful Experiment is a resolutely electronica album. It was entirely composed with a Roland MC-303, a vocoder MAM VF-11 and a speak and spell. Painful Experiment is probably, to date, the concept of the more intimate Nationale2. Folded back on itself after the loss of two years' compositions, because of the crash of a HDD, he began a return to the source with the machine's most controversial by the purists when it was released.

Intelligent minimalistic electronica. When someone is creative, he doesn't need much equipment.

Thank you for sharing your work.

Hi there,

I was a big Amiga computer fan in the 90's, and still I am a big fan of computer music created on Amigas (so called modules, created using Soundtracker/Protracker).

I am also a big Discoid.fr web radio fan, and just listening to its programme now too. Few minutes ago I heard a song entitled Elements from this album and noticed, that the main melodies of it is taken from an old and famous Amiga music module written by Dr.Awesome (alias Bjorn Lynne) entitled Spacedel.

I think it's not a problem that old tunes appear in new music, but if that is the case, the original composer should be mentioned, at least.
Sorry, if Bjorn Lynne was mentioned in relation to the song Elements, but I could not find it.

Here is a list of Bjorn's songs available to download an listen (a special Amiga module player software is required, but also available on the web): http://amp.dascene.net/detail.php?detail=modules&view=2157

Partly, this is why I do not give the rating 10: Awesome to this album - which is good enough anyway.

Best Regards,
iRon

I love the experimental, electronic aspect of these tracks. The music is surprisingly melodic and appealing and has a quiet charm. I was intrigued and captivated as soon as I hit the play button. Sometimes music like this makes me think of a patchwork quilt. Knowing how to put the pieces together, shape, color, and pattern, to create an interesting and pleasing whole, is not easy but takes creativity, talent, heart, and in the case of the musician it takes a good ear. Nationale2 has all that and more.

I liked "ST-00" which had a great percussive beat, calmly progressing alongside its instrumental frenetic sidekick. I thought that "Machine Never Lie" was a cool title and a thoroughly minimalistic percussive sound which made me think of giant robots approaching in a persistent manner. "Having an Exit issue" was almost subliminal, and subsonic and fascinating. "Ignition" had some great mechanical vocals and a very catchy beat. I think I liked that one the best.

This album is a fun listen and quite impressive.

There is a lot of really good music here. I especially liked tracks 5, 6 and 7.

Now a slightly different approach, a different technological limitation (see mikro orchestra), but one that allows talent to breathe, a good piece of trusty kit and, as marac says, an intelligent and spirited approach makes the music so much better. A different blending and intent with experimental minimalism. Nice work, thanks!-)

Great stuff overall, I love your constant experimentation, it makes everything work on a whole other level above anything else of the genre.
