The Annihilator seems to be about a malignant presence rather than something to dance to, why this should be such an attraction is beyond me. Does the whole world want to get wasted and do a dervish to satisfy their primal screams? It is an expression, a musical expression. More cosmopolitan and confused these days than when a harpsichord was all there was to entertain your guests. After all, it does say, amongst other things 'experimental' and 'noise' and 'boring' and 'cold', so what could one expect?
connect_modules_2, as a track, feels like I do sometimes, erratic and handicapped, even my hands are giving up on me slowly. It pays a strange tribute in places, to that which has gone on before in the world of sounds but points in the direction of the future. How can this be criticised when so many people are moronically listening to what's offered them through the mainstream. I don't want to know about the likes of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton, or some badass rapper covered with jewels and gold, cruising with his booming system. You can stick to that if you like, but I prefer musical expression that endeavours to offer something different.
I once worked in a place where the general view of music was the same Depeche Mode album over and over again. When the offer to hear some of my tastes, I was just harangued into turning it off. I didn't work there very long, I don't suffer fools gladly by any measure. As for Flanicx Flutuando, it is a dark glimpse of our pitiful future as a 'progressive' world. It all runs downhill, so look out.
