Through the years there are several tracks I have never released, sometimes because I didn't feel they were good enough, sometimes because the style didn't fit the album I was working on. Here you have all themes and versions I was keeping dark or giving away to other projects, but never made it into my albums:

  • 4 minutos para Año Nuevo (4 minutes til new year): Recorded during the sessions for "The Astronaut", although it initially belonged to "Life in Bitville". I gave it to Babel Sin Fronteras' "Luz de Invierno" project.
  • El amor es un enigma (Love is a mistery): Outtake from  "El Último Peldaño"
  • David in Slumberland: Track given for Babel Sin Fronteras' "Sueños de Babel" project.
  • For Wim: Very old outtake composed as a tribute to Wim Mertens.
  • Xaman Ek: Outtake from "El Día Mejor", rejected because the style didn't fit the album.
  • El Largo Viaje (The Long Journey): Outtake from "The Astronaut". Initially this track described First Born's long space journey before the incident happens.
  • El misterio del cuarto cerrado (The mystery of the locked room): Outtake form "El Día Mejor"
  • By night: Track never properly finished, initially intended to be in "La voz de los ángeles rotos"
  • Mirando al Horizonte (Staring at the horizon): First version of "Horizonte", given to the  Free Guitars 2 project.
  • Trio: Piano solo version, outtake from "El Día Mejor"
  • La última transmisión (The last transmission - Alternative): A music excerpt rejected as background for one of the narration segments in "The Astronaut".
  • Further inspection: By the end of 2007 I was proposed to participate in a multi-artist project with music inspired by the Roswel incident. I composed "Further Inspection" for it. When the projct was aborted, I modified the track slightly into the "Astronuata" single.

The music cheered me . . . and made my evening bubble
with some joy coming straight from the heart of these songs . . .
I found myself smiling . . the music so upbeat
and the sounds like crystal sparkling stars
in my dark sky . . . yes . . . these compositions made me
happy and that is worth quite a bit these days . . .
I place a high value on things that make me feel good . . .

Little bits of piano . . . pattering like cat feet . . . stretched
and danced . . . guitar played with tender loving care . .
nothing wrong with this album . . . its so lovely . . .

and to me . . .all is right . ..

Having listened to this collection of music, I can now see why some of the tunes were left out of previous works. Of the 11 full tracks, I enjoyed "Further Inspection" the most, for it strayed away from the standard New Age "sound". Lush synth playing tends to become monotonus after hearing the layering so many times, but this offered a touch more.
"Four Minutes Before New Years" showed a nice collection of rhythms & musicality, but about 3 minutes in things became a bit muddled. It does straighten out, ending on a solid note.

A collection of tunes well worth a listen, but please listen to some of Jaime's other works. You'll see what this man has to offer for your enjoyment.

Yes, yes . . . "El amor es un enigma" oh my . . . what beauty!! That endearing melody put a big smile on my face. It made me think of a stately, elegant dance. And as soon as I heard "David in Slumberland" I knew I was listening to a sweet lullaby. "For Wim" was another beautiful melody. "El largo viaje" had my sympathies for it was an excellent adventure in sound and imagination. I really loved "El misterio del cuarto cerrado"'s danceable and upbeat, cheerful qualities. That one put a smile on my face . . . Lots of nice instrumental and piano interplay in this song, and the changes in tempo were so charming. "Further Inspection" was a space trip and truly stunning.

I found all of these melodies on this album to be of excellent quality and playable to a classroom of students for their enjoyment, because that was what I was doing and they liked it!

A wonderful musical master piece this whole album is by Jaime Heras. To experience it, is to truly saviour its its, great delights it has in store, for you the listener. Amazing, atmospheres. outstanding expression in emotions, time, travel, events, good, bad and indifferent to us humans on earth, and so much besides...Let your ears, heart and soul, but most of mind, travel and explore this awesome gift of musical expression and classical, newage, piano, instrumental music has to offer you.. You will feel so much and do so much with every your imagination and hearing on checking this beauty out..
