Nouvelles Desillusions is wonderfully dramatic from the outset, lovely dark contemplation in creative form. The voices, although beyond my linguistic reach contain a fitting passion for this desp-air. The atmosphere continues into the second track, Reasons. There are always reasons for feeling forlorn, always justifications, however subjective nonetheless real and effective. J'ai oublié works, in its own fashion along the same lines, with a strong guitar element. J'ne parle, quelle surprise!-) but I feel the anguish, and that's the magic of this music, that it can transport such strong feeling.

Homme mortel, a translation I can take a reasonable stab at, is a soliliquy of solitude and overwhelming sense of mortality, which can be quite a heavy weight to bear at times. But why would we want to live forever in a physical hell on earth, when we can be done with it and meld into the one spirit that pervades all around us, even the indiscernible aspect of our environments and states of being. Then again, Courir, continues the feel of the music and ailing passion. Quite well-balanced but focusing primarily on vocale Francais. Le Mal d'Etre an acoustic vision of evil, all the more effective for its simplicity and lack of complication.

Cryogenie, tres melancolic et tres bon. Down maybe, but done so well. Bleu, does this have the same connotations in French as in English, it sounds as if it does. Trip Trick is a lovely, shadow-laden acoustic piece, quite sombre and again melancholia reigns supreme. In a sense 'organic despair' is literally an existential epistemologic Weltanschauung, and one that is difficult to carry around or live within, depending on how you look at it. No rose coloured spectacle, unless it's blood-red rose.

More organic despair with Radio, like all channels are on at the same time making for a very crowded and unendurable head-space. Very good track that I can empathise with. The Cage (is this the Sylvain I have crossed the wires with, if so that website practically wiped out my PC, but thanks anyway Mr.Z) features a different feel, mainly acoustic but with a profoundly dark background against the melancholic melodiousness. Nice guitar layers that work extremely well, building slowly, with lyrics straight from Hell and bound to ever return, regardless of efforts to escape. Still trapped, Desillusions Inverses puts the icing on this brioche-noir, to be consumed with caution. Not for the faint-hearted or the intractably happy ones amongst us. A fantastic album, damned good work for the good work of the damned. Continuez, s'il vous plaît...
