Alex Bailey a man of visionary folk, tracks, that portray, emotions and lives of many a person. His voice carries the emotions and heartfelt, sadness and experiences, to cover each in great lyrics and music content. Nice interesting, sad, depressing sounding album, but very good at that, just a bit to sad that's all.

This sounds like a very melancholy Don McLean. Another artist that comes to mind when listening to this album is Andrew Bird.

Alex has a lovely voice for singing this kind of folk music. The lyrics are very good but the music is a bit bare. In my opinion collaboration with other musicians would result in an exceptional album.

I really like this album but unfortunately the lack of variation in style means that I have marked it down to a 7.

The jazz tag is misleading.

Bailey´s voice vaguely reminds me of Badly Drawn Boy. I think it´s interesting that many reviews of this album (both praising and negative) compare Bailey to Nora Jones. I´m not a big fan of Nora Jones since I think the production arrangement is too "silky smooth". It doesn´t leave much of an impression on me. Bailey however sometimes has a nerve in his voice which makes his music more interesting. And that is why I like this album although it´s not my genre. Arguably however, the album is a bit too long considering it´s lack of variation.

I don't know if this guy wants to be intro entertainer on weddings or what?
This is far from jazz. He just plonks some chords on his piano and sings along. Now, if you like chansons from 30 - 50's and Casablanka movie you might like it. I don't. If you're looking for some vocal jazz just listen to Chet Baker, and this guy is not near him.
Comparing this to Norah Jones is totally unrealistic. God, she's well educated, highly professional composer with music in her bloodline, and has whole orchestra arrangments to support her. I'm sory for being so brutal Alex but you've got none of it, but a traces of potential!

In my opinion this is boring to death! If you want to chase away your guests if you're having a party, this is the right thing!

Very pretty melodies and a voice which agrees to wonder with the sound of the piano. Very harmonious, languorous with wish, very tender. An enchantment for the heart and the ears. Thank you
