I was drawn to this album by the Operating System. Wow, geeky I know. However there is nothing geeky about the music.
Track 1. Powerful modern folk / prog ? (I find genre's a very poor vehicle for describing music.) My attention was held fully for the 8 and a bit minutes as the forms changed and mutated around the main themes. Not tunes I could whistle but it's not that kind of music. It was exciting and threatening at the same time. I loved it!
Track 2. The vocal was more poetry than singing. Not really my thing. But the throbbing, pulsing music behind kept me listening.
Track 3. Lo-Fi I'm not sure about this one. Velvet Underground meets The Fall.
Track 4. Retro to start with then dissolving into noise. I quite liked it but I'm not sure why.
All in all, it sounds to me like the guys has fun putting this together and spent time on the recording and production which are top quality.
