Album description

es This text is not available in your chosen language, we are displaying it in its original language.

"LO-FI" is an attempt at transmitting the sensations and feeling of some noises or background ambients into music. All the disc has been recorded with low fidelity philosophy, both in compositions and sound. In the end, is nothing but a minimalism album. I hope you like it.

The song "Walk 2, summer" is dedicated to the memory of all victims that died at the nuclear bombardments of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, one of the greatest crimes agains mankind ever, and a homage to all survivors.

I wanted to go to school,
but my father said "I have a very strange feeling today,
you shouldn't go to school, stay with us..."

The song "the titanic attempts of a rusted bicycle to keep running" is dedicated to all thigs that refuse to be considered as useless, to blur in the nothingness  of age and dissapear...

The title names are translated as:

01. Walk 1, spring
02. The titanic attempts of a rusted bicycle to keep running
03. A child that no longer exists plays with the old piano
04. Walk 2, summer
05. Summer's storm
06. The dawn reflected in your eyes, part 1
07. Walk 3, autumn
08. The message of the whales
09. The dawn reflected in your eyes, part 2
10. Walk 4, winter
11. When all have left, only the creaking of their swings at the wind will remain...

The songs include the following samples: "Paseo 1" includes "goat rocks walking" by Corsica. "Los titánicos esfuerzos..." includes "escalator" from Pcaeldries. "Paseo 2" includes "Walking home" from Herbert Boland. "Tormenta de Verano" includes "Thunderstorm2" by Erdie. "El amanecer... part 1" includes "old radio noise" by DrNI. "Paseo 3" includes "A walk in the forest" by micndom. "El mensaje de las..." includes "Fiji Beach" by Chris Davis. "Paseo 4" includes "walking in snow" by Spandau. "Cuando se hayan ido..." includes "eerie howl" by Sagetyrtle. Thanks to all this people for sharing their sounds with me.

Simple Beautiful arrangements.

It may say Lo Fi but there is nothing lacking in sound quality here.

All instruments including drums sound amazing!

The stand out instrument is the piano but there are some moments on the guitar and drums as well.

When I think of Lo Fi I like to think of something that may not of been recorded in a traditional sense but is closer to the artist's vision perhaps, this recording has satisfied my quest for a recording that is both emotional and true the musicians intent.

This album tells a story that the listener can follow but still get lost and make up their own story as well.

Ambient noises abound!
Record noise, walking through grass, running in a swamp, walking in ice and snow, wind, waves, thunder.
In the second song I can hear rain water falling in what sounds like a factory.
All these sounds add to the songs like other instruments.

Incorporating the sounds of nature into the music all though not a new idea is done very well here.
All though the 8th song goes on for over ten min and it reminds me a bit of a CD of ocean waves that I used to play to fall asleep at night except that there's what sounds like a crying cat at the end.

Don't get me wrong, I love whales as much as the next guy but don't put me to sleep before the album is over.

The last song also goes on for a bit.

The quality's far out shadow the weaknesses of this album.

Did I mention how beautiful this music is?

Great job to everyone involved in this recording, I will be downloading it and I'll probably recommend it to a few friends as well!

I look forward to more and thanks!

One review must do for all 3 albums from Bosques de mi Mente. There is a sound here, a feeling; there is also space and emotion. The work reminds me of Brian Eno and Philip Glass - half-heard snippets of suggested music which build into a gloriuos whole.

Well worth listening to and downloading!

This is just the kind of contemporary neo-classical music I enjoy a lot! Piano, mellow effects, beautiful, traditional harmonies and simplistic structures that are woven together in a reasonable and interesting way.

It is a combination of visual soundtrack music and acoustic piano etudes. Something I aspire to do myself with Frozen Silence.

Recommended!

What a name for an outstanding collection of heartfelt tracks! "Lo-fi" echoes the title of Thievery Corporation's album, but the musical direction here is quite different. I used to spend so much time hunting down bands that made stuff like this. That was more than 15 years ago. Keep up the great work!

Each note that carries you away, into the land of amazing beauty in this album. Feel the passion, hurt, pain, love, fear, wood, industrial age, every thing become one, as you listen, and take in all, with this musical masterpiece.

I like this album a lot. I found the eighth track "El mensaje de las ballenas" to be very hypnotic and beautiful. I would like to hear more music like this, and I look forward to future albums by this artist.

Me ha dejado mudo el álbum, por supuesto, en el mejor de los sentidos.
Una Obra Maestra del minimalismo español.

Like all good minimalist albums, this can be listened to on repeat for an entire afternoon. The poetry of tracks 2 and 4 were particularly moving for me. Beautiful piano playing which fits very nicely into the overall structure of the album. Thanks for sharing!

I couldn't play the first track but all the rest sounds like constrained simulation of Yann Tiersen with ambient noises and synth sounds. It's ok to be influenced by some artist, but this sounds too much alike, same notes, same chords, same phrases. The only intriguing track here is the 8th track - a lo-fi ambient with surf, strings, reversed sounds and whales.
