Great album! I would think that it's much better than some of the commercial artists I've listened to before. Definitely hope they continue their work.

The band can play. The girl can sing. And it sounds good ! If you like gothic rock I definitly suggest you listen to this.

I thought there were a number of similarities to the more widely known Evanescence. Even the girls voices sound eerily similar. There a bit more towards Hard Rock / Metal.

Personally I think the guy singer should avoid singing in his Metal voice, it takes away from the experience. But some people are into that screaming voice kind of thing. The guy and girls voices compliment/harmonize well when the guy ain't screaming - so they should focus on that in there music.

Check out the tracks Different Way, Vodoo Dream, and of course Breathin Again.

For each of the bands that have made it onto my music shelves over the years, I am now finding similar-niche replacements that don't support the big-business music cartels and RIAA mafia.

Antarhes has replaced Evanescence for me. End of story. :-)

Well done Antarhes, great music!

(But I agree with other reviewers here, no more of that male "Metal Voice" please. Trying to sound like one has an IQ of under 20 is not a worthy goal.)

I don't read French too well, but if I understand their myspace page correctly, Antarhes split up in January 2008.

So sad, a great-sounding band.

But on the positive side, at least Jamendo and CC licensing preserves the band's work for posterity.

PPS. I've upped my rating to 9, after listening to this album every day for a month. It has withstood the test of time. But it's so sad that I cannot buy the original work because the band is no more, nor download the original work because Jamendo hides away the lossless FLACs as if they were its own property.

I wonder if this band still exists, because the link to their web site is dead. But this album is sooooo good! It reminds me a lot of Cristina Scabia and Lacuna Coil. This album was already released in 2006. I just hope that we can still expect more of Antarhes in the near future because it is a pitty that such a great band would disappear. Or have Antarhes abandoned Creative Commons and gone fully commercial? That would be too bad!

Zeer sterk album, luister er al maanden naar en verveelt niet. Hou vooral van Nowhere. Prachtig gitaarspel!!
Stuk voor stuk goede nummers

This group reminds me of After Forever. Both groups have strong female singers, and a symphonic/melodic feel that's often mistaken for being gothic. Allthough it has some elements from gothic, I wouldn't call that the primary genre.
I like most of the songs except for She Told Me, allthough I can't really tell anymore why.

How nice it is to hear something of this quality for free. Awesome vocals, musicianship and vocals. Kind of reminds me of Evanescence and Lacuna Coil. I wonder when they'll hit the US with a tour?
