About
Alex Huss and Doug Appling (AKA Emancipator) have been engaged in music collaboration since the fall of 2006 when Doug played drums in Alex's band, Alex Huss and the Lynchpins of this Operation. Long before this crossing of paths though, Doug had been crafting what is now his seminal debut as an electronic musician Soon it Will Be Cold Enough. Upon hearing this work of art Alex was inspired to try his hand at composing electronic music and has been diligent at it ever since. Doug was also impressed by Alex's musical style and in the fall of 2007 the two set out to create an album that epitomized the limitless potential for musical collaboration in the digital age. The result was Boxes Full of Soup, a thirty minute exploration into the possibilities of sound. Both artists are still hard at work solo, Alex with the release of his newest album entitled A Time EP and Doug with his upcoming Japanese tour in September, but future certainly has more in store for this duo.
