About
The System/Addicts are not a band
The System/Addicts are a movement
The System/Addicts are produced by Naf, (Crackwhore, The Resignators, Without Warning).
The System/Addicts are also Pat (Addiction 64, Without Warning) and Mikey (the one man mosh pit).
With a wide variety of influences, The System/Addicts take the DIY punk approach to writing and recording, while bringing a variety of genres to their sound including but not limited to; Ska, electro, rockabilly, reggae, jazz and folk.
The SystemAddicts do not pay for anything.
But in return all SystemAddicts releases are available for free.
The System/Addicts were born in late 2008, when Naf acquired a digital 8 track recorder.
After about a month of experimental recordings, The System/Addicts released 'Social Science' in January 2009.
Caught up in the frenzy and excitement of recording Social science, with 30 days left of trial music software. The System/Addicts wrote, recorded and released 'Patient 158...' in February 2009.
June 2009 saw the release of 'Shock Value', Naf's first solo release
A government grant and some new equipment gave way for the release of 'Systematic Breakdown' in February 2010.
After the Alphington Zombie Garden debacle, June 2010 saw the release of 'What's he building in there?" Naf's 2nd solo recording.
2011 will see the release of “The adventures of The SystemAddicts in search of the lost zombie garden"
This is the sixth release for the System/Addicts. Featuring classics like; 'Dance together', a track inspired by 'Yo Gabba Gabba', while Naf toured with 'The Aquabats'.
'Persons of great power', with lyrics by the amazing Jason Hatcher (Some one else's Jacket, Between the wars, Eulogy, YOTS). Jason also appears on the tracks 'Boneyard jive' and 'Police state', which also features Josh Furhman (One night band, Planet Smashers) on saxophone.
Other guest star appearances include Kat Chish (Ramshackle Army, The Hornswaglers) on violin and William Hewitt on guitar in the track 'The captain of a sinking ship'.
The album also features re-recorded versions of the SystemAddicts classics 'Get your cone on' and 'Goonbag stomp'.
Watch the record industry explode as a revolution in recorded music unfolds.
Independent musicians are taking back control of their music. While the major labels are busy battling piracy, grabbing for every last dollar they can while they're still in power. The SystemAddicts are at the forefront of the home studio upheaval, claiming total ownership of their music, which is created without spending a cent.
The SystemAddicts make music, not money.
