About
Arkadi Troitsky(born 1957) is a Russian composer, arranger and conductor. Between 1983 and 1999 , Troitsky composed several works for piano, sonatas for clarinet, viola, bassons and various works for children including two musicals. He also orchestrated the Second Rhapsody of Gershvin and worked as arranger for different well-known Russian composers. During his seven year assignment with the American composer J.Datshkovsky, he wrote, arranged and recorded as conductor more than 10 large symphonic scores, two of wich are symphonic cycles consisting of 10-12 pieces. 1991-1992 Troitsky was art director and conductor of the chamber orchestra Continent. At that time, he made a number of transcriptions for strings orchestra, such as Pictures at an exhibition by Mussorgsky, the First Sonata for viola by Brahms, songs by Grieg, and J.S.Bach Toccata in d-minor and Toccata and Fugue in d-minor. 1992-1999 Troitsky composed the two ballets Mirage and Russian Fortress (on themes of Shostakovich's symphonies).Since 2000, he has already written symphonic music to The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky and five string quartets.
