Cannula was formed in Wigan, Greater Manchester, England in 2000. All the band were previously members of Indie band Monkeyland.

The band, with Dave Spencer on vocals, Neil Wignall on bass, Nigel Wood on drums and Andy Doran on guitars, was only around for a very short couple of years, but managed to record an album 'A Neon Serenade' and a host of unfinished demos along with a string of live performances.

Following Cannula, Dave has recorded and performed solo and also along with Nigel and Neil. Andy started a project called Heifervescent which he still records under.
