About
My name is Artemis, I'm 22 and I live in a Christian Community near Northampton. I have been living with those I consider my family for four years and have been a singer/song writer for the same length of time. I generally write about what I see but I have recently seen a shift in my songs to how I feel. A few of my songs carry an undertone of my beliefs and I'm not ashamed to share them.
I find it funny how many people don't understand what a Christian is; suffice to say going to church on a Sunday doesn't cover it. A few years ago I changed the style of my singing after listening to Lily Allen and wondered why I sang like an American when I was British. It wasn't an easy transaction but I managed it and now I find it impossible to sing how I used to! Good times.
My main influences are Linkin Park, Lily Allen and Pink. I would definitely describe myself as a lyricist as my lyrics must always have meaning, whether deep or crazy, they must be for a reason, not just because they rhyme. As well as my beliefs and relationship with God, those influences, especially Linkin Park, have allowed me to ponder the deeper things of life and not just accept life, or society, as it is.
