Can you escape the DAILY GRIND?

DAILY GRIND is a Nuremberg-based band that consists of five young, charismatic musicians, who made it their business not to reinvent Rock’n’Roll, but to render it edgy again – the way it needs to be (to rock). Already implied by the bands’ name, DAILY GRIND want to snatch their audience from their gloomy and boring everyday lives and delight them with their well-balanced cocktail of savoury, good mood Rock songs, emotional ballads and groovy Pop songs. Their music combines elements of Rock, Pop, Nu – and Heavy Rock to a harmonious mixture, with which the guys want to offer more to their listeners than some kind of smoothened three-minute fast-food-music, which can be found just about everywhere nowadays.

Not only with their lyrics, which are all of their own composition, their authentic songs with dominant guitar-sound and their elaborate, multifarious arrangements, but also with a good deal of joy of playing, which can easily be observed when they are on the stage, do they cast a spell over their audience. DAILY GRIND play Rock music for a broad range of people, from time to time influences from bands like Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns’n’Roses, Extreme or Train shimmer through, but nonetheless do they keep their own style and individuality. For example one of their online-listeners-reviews reads: DAILY GRIND play “straightforward Rock music” and their songs “rock with catchy tunes”.

The band was founded in 2006 by Christopher Marcus Schlierf (vox., git.) and René Langenhan (git.), and soon they were joined by Christian Treffs (keyboard/piano) and René Heinrich (bass). After some changes behind the drums, the quintet has finally completed itself since the beginning of 2008 by choosing Christian Lang as their new drummer. Even though the current band line-up hasn’t existed for such a long time yet, all of them have separately gathered lots of band and stage experience. They played among others in bands like Sm.aX, Traze, Risky Whisky, Herr Waschpulver, Schooldays, Funkylosophy, Roadcrew and Texas Rooster, which has from the beginning been brilliant for their team play on the stage as well as in the rehearsal room. So, it’s no wonder that the feedback of the audience at their first shows in 2007 was overwhelmingly good. They not only convinced their listeners by performing with cranked amplifiers, but also with gentle acoustic arrangements at their first unplugged show – at the Avalon’s Dust in Nuremberg at the end of 2007.

But apart from the gigs they haven’t been bone idle, since they started recording demo-material for their upcoming album and they also completed the filming of their first professional music-video for their single “Hold on to me” in December 2007, which will be released in summer 2008.

Apart from recording their songs, they plan on playing several club gigs, for example at the “Lauschich” in Nuremberg, and some festivals, such as the “Wir halten’s Fest” in Helmbrechts, in the upcoming weeks and months. So you should definitely allow yourself to be convinced by them and their music at one of their live shows – for one thing is dead sure: DAILY GRIND rocks and provides for an unforgettable concert experience – don’t hesitate and visit one of their next shows!

The bottom line is: Rock’n’Roll needs to rock and DAILY GRIND does rock!
