Shards of noise rip your mind to shreds as distorted breakbeat hell batters all resistance to the revolutionairy force listening to the soundtrack to the end of the world......

Well, that was our aim when we formed Dummycrusher back Liverpool in 1998. It was my and Paul Bartly's first foray into the world of producing music entirely with computers. I was just 19 years old and we had some of the very first software for producing complete tracks in a computer (Cool edit pro, vaz, rubber duck - Acid wasn't even out yet!)

This was our year zero. Our punk. We no knowledge and no rules. We had the pretentiousness of youth on our side and we were convinced we were bringing down civilisation with our tunes.

We produced the album "Dummycrusher" in about 8 months and got radio play and a bit of interest. Now I listen back - it's incredible! We had no idea about melody, structure and stuff and the music is all the better for it! Really proud that my first album sounds so bizarre! The song LOBA is my favourite.

Well, Paul left and formed an incredible noise band called The Mylar Blackout and I continued Dummycrusher and made a live band out of the digital noise! A difficult task which resulted in some more conventional sounding songs. It was difficult to memorise ambiant drillcore structures so we startred to sound a little more like a rock band. We rocked the hell out of the Liverpool punk scene.

The album we made was called "The noise terrorists" and was recorded on sampler, synthesiser, guitar and 4-track. No computer at all!

Well, I moved to Paris, France and discovered the extreme xenophobia of the french got depressed and got shit hot excellent with my sampler. I produced my best music in these negative vibes and you can hear some of this period on the album: "Wake up and smell the noise" which is my favourite.

I eventually wanted to get back on stage but doing crazy breakcore live is just too damn difficult so I put Dummycrusher on pause and I formed Louis Lingg and the Bombs.

Maybe I'll get back to Dummycrusher someday.......
