As the summer melted into its final throes and outdoor raucousness began yielding its heat to the more subdued, earthy moods of fall, Sam Harmon sat alone in the midst of guitars, keyboards, amps, and a bass, reflecting hard on his dreams of creating the perfect band.

The music room was packed with instruments and equipment all lovingly adored but the lack of fingers and hands and voices to embrace the space created a musical emptiness akin to a babe in a cradle surrounded by inanimate, hanging toys. Joyful as they swing, the baby chuckles and coos as he pokes the toys with his tiny fingers, but if you leave him in there alone too long you’ll come back to a dead baby.

Sam is no infant about to choke on a toy. He cast a wide mental net and when the supernatural tide swept out, two like musical souls remained. From the ashes of the cradle, MisGuided Children were born.

MisGuided Children is Sam Harmon on guitar and vocals, Hansa El Din on bass and Nic Gusset on drums.

The sound is a blend of Sam's beloved nineties pop rock with just the slightest touch of R&R/Punk rhythm section and "folksy" blues to keep grandma on her toes. Also, despite these things, it's kind of odd. MisGuided Children have been known to please people of all ages regardless of the guidance they received during their formative years.

Sam Harmon is a local musician, songwriter, artist and filmmaker who has made many short films in Eugene, Oregon, as well as in Oakland, California, and in his sleep sometimes. He has loved music his whole life and some of his fondest first memories are sitting next to the record player enjoying his Mom's record collection. Sam was home schooled so it is only natural that he has taught himself to play music.

Hansa El DIn is a maybe-talented multi-instrumentalist who travels and plays music primarily between Port Townsend, Washington, Eugene, Oregon, and the Bay Area of California. He has preformed with a number of bands and local musical celebrities including The Inkwell Rhythm Makers and Baby Gramps. Hansa has also released an acclaimed album with his friends Billy and Willis entitled “Green Green Green.” His most steady love-gig has been a team act with Country singer, Brody Douglas Hunt.

Nic Gusset is a full time is a full time musician and local music expert.. When Nic isn't playing in a band he's jumping from one concert to the next trying to see as much music as the human mind can experience. Nic currently plays guitar in On The Tundra, owns his own record label, "Trough Raid," and teaches music at The Village School in Eugene, Oregon.
