Mischapex is a Dutch electronic musician. He started mixing techno in 1992 and started making his own compositions a year later. Always on a low budget, his main equipment consisted of an Atari 1024, Boss DS-330 Synth and Roland MS-1 sampler. In 2000 he replaced the Atari by a pc, and in 2002 he added a Novation Nova to his rack. Mischapex intends to bring the listener into magical, mystique spheres by using recognizable samples. His music is influenced by Future Sound of London and can be characterized as IDM/ambient with a touch of acid. Songs range from delicate soundscapes to epileptical goa. The rhythm composition is often complex and freaky. Although the individual songs can be relatively short, they must be listened in the context of the album, because only then the comprehensiveness of the composition can be experienced to its fullest. Mischapex is solely responsible for composing, creating, production and mixing of his music. Nonetheless he enjoys playing with other musicians that play the guitar, bass or other acoustic instruments. Mischapex teaches philosophy and is a counter strike master.
