This one-man project was started in 2002.
Several self-released cassette albums have been made (the first album - "Road to the land beyond the moon", 2002), which were distributed through friends for free, simply as gifts, etc. In the beginning it was mostly dark ambient/folk/synth, were themes about the unseen and the mythical world are dominant, trolls, tales, with influences from such artists as Mortiis (the old), Burzum (ambient albums), etc.
In 2003 the first cd album is released - "Forestgod". Also self released and distributed, as well as through the legendary alternative culture shop "Maize" for a symbolic fee.
All albums until now were released in 5-8 pieces.
In 2004 the album "Shadow kaleidoscope" is recorded in Lithuania, Kaunas. This is a time of change for Vārna, and in this album there is also vocal and all songs are performed on acoustic guitar - there is lots of experimentation and it ends up with dark-folk, neofolk influences. After that there is a pause, because a new band is formed - "Shadow kaleidoscope" or "Ēnu kaleidoskops" in Latvian.
In 2006-2008 the albums "After hundreds there became hundreds" was recorded, which is available for free on the Internet. This latest album is also under neofolk and darkfolk influences, except for one song (untitled), which is a mix of the work of previous years.
