I'm a self-taught virtual knob experimenter. :-)
I've been using seq24 for my sequencing events and for it's simple interface and qwerty key mapping.
For the audio I mostly base my composition in hydrogen for the beats (sometimes some kicks or hihats are synthed in amsynth or mx44), mx44, amsynth, minicomputer, hexter or aeolus for synth, and specimen for sampling.
I wrap it all with the help of qjackcontrol and record it live with timemachine. I then use the super fast and simple mhwaveedit to trim and normalize the track.
The tracks of the releases posted here are improvised, created from scratch and recorded live. I still don't use any track recorder but I'll try ardour someday.

Acho que sou um experimentalista auto-didacta. A sonoridade do que faço terá várias influências, mas tenho dificuldade em definir ao certo o estilo do que faço e se faz algum sentido. :-P
As faixas dos lançamentos que faço aqui usam uma série de software livre, as simples composições são feitas na hora e a gravação da faixa é feita ao vivo, sem nenhum tipo de composição global. Acho mais estimulante fazer as coisas assim do que tentar obter uma imagem geral pelas suas partes constinuintes. Agora que penso nisso, é como ir fazendo um puzzle, sem ter a imagem final. :-)
O facto de fazer as coisas duma forma improvisada dá-me algumas ideias de experimentar algo ao vivo, mas ainda não tive confiança suficiente no meu setup técnico para me aventurar nisso, mas não ponho essa hipótese de parte.
Faço isto para me divertir, avisem-me se souberem de alguma forma para melhorar o que faço. ;-)
