With Equals Conquest's debut record "Manifest Destiny", the duo of Imix Shish and Mike Mollura have created a layered, dense, beautiful ride of gritty sounds and emotions. These two longtime friends (and former Punk/Hardcore bandmates) had demoed various songs throughout the years, but had only dedicated themselves to the task of recording a full record in early 2005. The multi-instrumentalist pair recorded "Manifest Destiny" exactly like they had always wanted to: on their own terms, on their own time, as equals, and with only themselves to please. "Manifest Destiny" began as rough electronic demos and singer/songwriter ideas which were then collaboratively transformed into a new level of sonic soundscapes/beats/keys/awesomeness and textures. The group is currently working on their follow up record.
Tidbits: "Manifest Destiny" was self-recorded (with the help of friends) in the suburbs of Reading, PA - the cover art is mostly a photograph from Austria (or Hungary, Imix doesn't quite remember) - this is the third collaborative rendition of iHiH - rumor has it that if you start "Manifest Destiny" and xXx (starring Vin Diesel) at the same time, that they go together perfectly.
