Mikro Orchestra is an experimental sound - visual project from Poland, basing on the use of hand-held game consoles as a music instrument. Main assumption of project's authors is to create new sound space on the base of tones generated live from hand-held game consoles during a highly intensive performance consisting of massive explosion of visuals.
Group is active since 2001, currently with three players.
In 2006 orchestra has changed the name from "gameboyzz orchestra project" to Mikro Orchestra.
The Mikro Orchestra has performed at a number of venues including: Ars Electronica Festival, Linz; Transmediale, Berlin; Club transmediale, Berlin; WRO Media Art Biennale, Wroclaw; Read_Me festival, Moscow; Piemonte Share Festival, Torino/Italy; FESTA ELETTRONICA, Rome; experimentaclub, Madrid; Festival Emergences, Paris; ENTERmultimediale festival, Prague; STEIM, Amsterdam; Warsaw Electronic Festival; Microscopesession, Festspielhaus Hellerau, Dresden; Social Hacking, Plymouth and more.
