Planet Ugh

Planet Ugh is a musical solo-project by Andreas Kleinwächter from Cologne, Germany.

Andreas started to play electric guitar at the age of 15. A short time after that, he had first recording experiences on an amateur level with a formation called Black Acid. They created very experimental music using a Commodore Amiga, instruments, a foru-track tape machine and sound samples done with tape.

Later he played in various rock formations. At the age of 19 he was a member of Dusk to Dawn, a band that played electronic and pop influenced New Wave and Gothic music. He recorded two tapes with them, before he left the band.

He then had his own musical solo-project called The Blues of a Lesser God (TBOALG) , played gigs across Germany and recorded three tapes. The music was still in the same field as Dusk to Dawn, yet a lot more aggresive regarding the vocals and guitars.

Still in the the early Nineties he became interested in creating trance and techno music and did this for a couple of years until he stopped making music due to other interests.

In the year 2007 he became aware of modern computer based production possibilities that had been developed during the last decade and started to make music again.

Nowadays, his music is still mainly based in the electronic field, with trance, acid, goa, techno, breakbeat and triphop influences, but also guitar based music and vocals come into play more and more.

So far, he has recorded two Alums/EPs under the name Planet Ugh for the Anachronaut Label, which he runs himself. He also did acouple of remixes and some of his tracks have been on compilations like the Electronic Attack Albums.
