YouSirDMO - thanks for your Facebook Group - I have just now bought an ad to promote it and I hopes it helps and doesn't get too expensive.

I can only pay $10 per day for this for a limited time.

    Frank, Dylan, Barbara, Dawn --

Tomorrow a lot of us are going to have to go to work. I have set the WordPress page so that comments have to be approved before they are posted. This is because of my own experience: my own personal blog has been read around 36,000 times, but the spam shield software has already caught 40,000 pieces of spam.

Here's a short tutorial -- go to the site, make sure you're logged in. At the top of the page is a grey bar. Click 'My Dashboard'. Now you're on a control panel page. On the left hand column, there's a link that says 'Comments' -- click it. Now in the main part of the page there is a title that says 'Edit Comments'. Look right below it and you will see a little link bar that says

    All | Pending | Approved | Spam | Trash

If you select the 'Pending' link, you will see all the messages that need approving. When you hover over the message, a little magic bar will pop up with the choices --

    Approve | Reply | Quick Edit | Edit | Spam | Trash ...

'Approve' is what you want in most cases. 'Spam' is what you want in the other cases ;-)

Well, with all that said, let me update everyone else --

So far http://savejamendo.wordpress.com/ has had 544 hits. I've spread the news to the Linux Audio group on Facebook, written another installment of my own blog, and sent a message to the folks at Creative Commons about the situation.

However, tomorrow is a work day --

I end the day with a lot more optimism than I started. Thanks again to everyone who has helped to spread the word.

a quick tutorial to add the link on your pages:

if you have access to your sourcecode, just paste the following line before the </body> tag in your source

    <div id="help" style="float:left;position:fixed;top:0px;left:0px"><a href="http://savejamendo.wordpress.com" target="new"><img border="0" src="http://pancore.de/bin/2/sj4.ico" /></a></div>

if you work with wordpress, go to theme-editor, search for footer, and paste the line before </body> tag.

if you have a myspace account, go to your profile, edit settings. find a place, where you can add html code, paste the line.

this should work for most cases.

    have a nice day.

maybe this quick´n´dirty tutorial should be also posted on the savejamendo-site.

I'm out most of the day, but I'll check in on the WordPress comments when I can, probably easier for a feckless student like me than for you fine upstanding employed people. Also two of my articles on Jamendo are being translated and published on Russian site 'Xakep', which apparently is quite big but I haven't really got a clue about it, it being in Russian and all. More awareness at any rate.

YAY - everyone - I'm off to work and probably wont be here again until later tonight - I will keep an eye on the Wordpress blog as much as I can. I have huge hopes that we will see success - I know we will see some results.

At the very least we are pulling together the community of Jamendo Land - as we begin to grow, we will have a stronger voice - a voice to be reckoned with, a voice that will be heard.

THE PEOPLE ARISE! THE PEOPLE WILL BE HEARD!

OK - enough rabble rousing from me - I love you all!

 PAN WOW - I just saw - love it - love it! It speaks volumes
I tried to put it in the ad I bought but it was rejected so I just stole Jamendo's Icon - so sue me!

Is there any way that we could add a 'links' sidebar. We could add the links to anything that is relevant and thus keep them on top no matter which page you are looking at? I think more blogs and articles in the other languages may be out there (I am hearing rumors), and maybe links to other helpful sites. I don't know how that would work so if anyone could implement that - just a straight forward links box on the right side.

    Also maybe I didn't see it. . .

i think we need some structure on the helpjam-site.

also the template seems not to be perfect, it doesn´t fit somehow.
if i imagine a german reader comes to the site and isn´t well understanding english, he will leave possibly.
so, maybe we should change the structure a bit.

for usability reasons it should be very easy to reach the 'link to spread' including instructions how to insert the code for it, the donation link for direct donations and the whole site could have pages maybe with mother-tongue-languaged content.

i have a top-menue in mind containing 'the pages'.
a page could be named 'deutsch', 'english' , etc and every page is filled by an author of the belonging land.

the problem itself, the letter with amelie, and the donation things should be translated.

the language must not be a barrier.
    what do you think?

My Facebook ad has been approved and will be making its appearance - I think starting now. I cannot access it at work because our servers block Facebook so if anyone sees it and has an opinion - I can change it anytime - let me know. It is very short. I wonder how much a google ad costs? If not much I could invest in one of those?

    What do you think?

I think we should inspire people to post their thoughts, feelings, stories and favorite albums to our savejamendo-page. So people won't read only about problems but about the creative and social aspects of Jamendo. That would accompany our petition very well.

I've had a short exchange with Pantera, mod of the hispanic forum. The hispanic community is very, very disappointed about the behaviour of the Jamendo staff. Pantera told me quite clearly, that they won't support Jamendo, because he feels that the people in Luxembourg put the community and CC down as a cash cow. I understand his anger, but he lost me regards of his interpretation. It's a pity...

I can't believe that the whole Spanish community is against Jamendo. I know many of them are leaving but there must be several who are still involved here. It's sad but everyone to their own. I think that as we keep sending letters we will pull a few from that community. Also, Jamendo itself has been good to them. The staff is mostly gone so I see their choice as cutting off their nose to spite their face. Who are they punishing . . .but I argue to the wind. A stinky wind in my opinion.

    I agree

that should go first and foremost. At the same time people need to plaster their thoughts everywhere so just a few extra offerings are here. . . I have been putting the link to savejamendo.wordpress all over the place on the forums and have been tempted to add them to reviews and comments but have not gone there as of yet.

    We forge on. . .

Good idea - frank - I think we should let the potential buyers know that we are interested in helping financially.

By the way - I was just reading up in the Spanish forums and am now very depressed. Talk about a bunch of very angry folks. They don't seem to understand that there is no staff to be angry at here at Jamendo. There are no solutions until someone takes over Jamendo to fix the problems which are bothering them.
