    Hi,

Some great features are coming to Orange soon, one of them is being able to tell which instrument you play in your band.

We made a first list of instruments here :
    http://www.jamendo.com/en/get2/name/tag/plain?type=instrument&n=all&order=alpha_asc

Tell us if you play an instrument that's not listed in here so we can add it (wikipedia entry mandatory)

    thanks!

There are still dozens of musical instruments out there, but they are far too exotic. I mentioned only those that I've heard on Jamendo.

    And quite costly.
But I can tell you that after the first enthusiasm it becomes boring pretty soon, because it's limited to one fixed scale.

Well my friend showed me there are some clever tricks you can do to make other sounds (like massaging the upper part to make the whole thing vibrate), I guess with enough virtuosity you don't get bored too soon :)

Singer------------- What kind of istrument is that?
    Xylophone

    And why [/b b] tags don't work?

A variety of sounds could be made by implementing a singer sewing machine on a track, I'd imagine.

The list is missing a washboard. Not that I use one or anything, though I have discovered my lamp shade can be used as one. So I guess, really, the list is missing washboards and lamp shades, since I'm probably going to eventually drop some lamp shade into a track. The list is pretty biased against random objects laying around my house that could be turned into instruments at any moment.

Throatsinging is not an instrument, but technique. The other things you mentioned are rather devices than instruments.

you're close to disrespecting my lifestyle here. If it's a list where you can choose what instruments that was used, surely throatsinging would be one of them. as circuitbent electronics would be.

actually, friends have asked me, "do you have to look ugly to throatsing?". and if you think the wikipedia list should be the norm then you think "Death Growl" should be listed as an instrument. :-j
