edit: I no longer need drums. The rest of this post is left intact for the sake of the thread making some amount of sense.
Hello artists of Jamendo,
I've been working on this one track and I can't seem to get any drum parts to work right (I'm a keyboardist). I was wondering if any drummers or drum programmers could lend a hand with this one.
I'm getting a sample rate error from your file (only happens when I convert to wav. It thinks it's 48000 but (I think) it's 41000. Anyway could you send me a wav file so I could import to Ardour directly (like through sharecow.com)?
I was bored and did this... kind of typewritery, like a Murder She Wrote mystery. Though no typewriters were harmed in the making of the song, just finger snaps, table taps and a plastic bottle full of broken guitar strings. I don't know if it sounds good or fits at all but... its something, I guess.
I don't currently have access to the right computer where I can render a wave file of the project, but as soon as I am able I'll upload it to my server.
Grifeichadam: I don't think that fits very well, but thanks for the effort. :)
Hey guys. Great work! There is just something strange about the timing. The problem most likely doesn't lie in the drums, but the timing of my main synth part. I think I might just have to start the song over sometime.
I think it would be fun to do some more collaborations in the future. Unfortunately I won't be in a position where I can record anything a while since I'm moving out of my mom's and my audio interface isn't compatible with my linux box.
My linux box has its sound built into the motherboard...crappy. I have a recording audio interface on my mom's computer. That interface isn't compatible with linux. Its normal sound card is built in also. No swapping helps me here.
Anyway, before I moved, I put on my Dr. Frankenstein gloves on and duck taped drum samples together to come up with this: Latest Mix
I think I'm satisfied by the results. Thank you all for your input!

i thought something was rotten in denmark.
unfortunately, unless you are a machine (or play like one) you are going to have to do the drums first, and then record your synths & shit. otherwise, you won't be able to time things correctly and you'll have to piece it together like you did. you might think it's ass-backwards, but it's not. plus, playing in time with programmed beats will help tighten you up as a player.
