About this album

  • Updated: 30/10/2011

This is a mock charity song about bank bailouts - complete with a cheesy 80's intro, a choir and handclaps towards the end. I wrote it to raise awareness of the obsolete and increasingly absurd financial system and in support of the 99% and the Occupy Movement.

Here is the video for the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTF9ybhNPOQ&feature=youtu.be

There's no bad situations that won't come to an end, nor good ones, that will last forever.

It's appalling and shameful, all the lack of respect and sensibility for the most elemental needs and rights of the people, from those who effectively have the capacity and the power to make way and a difference. With an illusory conviction, which is provided by money and power, that they have somehow a sort of immunity shell, resistant to all sorts of hazards and problems, continue exploring and reducing to numbers, a large number of human beings, who already have nothing and even live in misery, to sustain an out of balance system, that fit mainly their purposes and where each time less and less people, have real opportunities of surviving with dignity or in some cases of merely surviving. History and daily events, proven already and for countless times, that no one is effectively immune to disgrace. Whether rich and powerful, or poor and helpless. Not intending to be a sort of prophet of doom, I sometimes feel like it's almost inevitable that something very dramatic will eventually happen someday, to effectively and irremediably make us realize, all without exception, that we are together as a whole, in the same fragile vessel and that whatever we do of good or bad, will necessarily affect each and single one of us, independently of any differences at the start. Music, is undoubtedly and also a very strong instrument, while an effective weapon, to draw attention to problems, transmit ideas and valors in order to raise the awareness of people or even stimulate them to do something valid for themselves and for all. Therefore, actions like this one, are not only worthy, as very well welcome. And this one, is worth the double. Musically speaking, is very well achieved, with a fairly simple sing along kind of melody, quite captivating and suitable to effectively deliver the political message, which is in fact and in the end, what is intended to highlight.

Schöner Aufruf in Zeiten...

B. in Afgahnistan. Wie nennt man so was normalerweise? Genau - Schutzgelderpressung. Also Safe the Banks!

This song made my day! There's truth in the satirical content, but to put it so eloquently, in verse, is amazing! Am looking forward to other "ills of the world" to come in verse...
