Instrumental guitar rock tends to fall into two categories - you're either an eccentric genius like Steve Vai or a more substantial player like Satriani. Carlos Saura seems to be closer to the latter, but on the edge of creating a niche of his own. His proficiency on the guitar is really commendable, but even moreso is the songwriting. Instrumental guitar albums tend to get a bit difficult if they go on too long - however, 21 minutes of high quality and consistent songwriting makes listing a pleasure. Only 2 of the albums 4 tracks are fret-shredding rock, the other two show Carlos' skill in stripping down the sound and laying down some guitar played from the heart, rather than the textbook. In a word - bravo!

Oui, en effet Carlos SAURA est très inspiré par Joe SATRIANI et c'est très réussi. Guitaristiquement parlant, il n'y a rien à dire de sa technique. Bravo

Nel complesso è un album che si lascia ascoltare: melodie semplici, cantabili e la loro struttura appare completa. Ho notato che più volte, però, le parti melodiche sembrano fuori tempo (alcuni attacchi, fra due temi melodici, sembrano avvenire in anticipo rispetto alla base) e questo mi ha lasciato perplesso, perchè sono errori correggibili (se sono veramente errori). Comunque è stato un ascolto che non mi è dispiacuito.

Un gros talent que possède ce guitariste d'exception. A mon avis, avec un tel guitariste, un groupe de rock serait sur une bonne base pour une très longue carrière. Le son est nickel ! Rien à redire sauf que c'est GENIAL !!! Bravo

On sent que "Crystal Planet" de Satriani passe en boucle dans leur petites oreilles :-) Un album bien sympatique (même si ca n'égale pas l'original).
