Oh my goodness, Art . . . I am completely blown away by this album . . How charming and beautiful it is . . . I have NOT heard anything better, or so emotional when it comes to jazz . . . and this is definitely a new favorite of mine, of yours . ..
This is the first time I have seen one of your albums without a story or tale to introduce the theme . . . But these gorgeous pieces will draw a story from the depths of the listener's heart and memories . . .. These songs have a deep sorrow that cries out through the brass and keyboard and resounds on the bones of the listener, as if those drums were reverberating within their body and soul..
"I Cry for You Part 2" . . . put tears in my eyes and my heart . . .
I think I am simply speechless . . . I understand why you didn't write your usual story . . . the story must come from the soul of the listener . . as they listen to these Blue Jazzy pieces . . . and feel . . . just feel the music . . .
EDIT: I am so sorry . . . I did NOT see the album description . . . I'm glad it's there . . .
I love jazz and jazz with muted horns is super. Bring on more like this. Great album.
I had a sense of listening to Chuck Mangione' while listening to these tracks, but also a slight feel of Herp Alpert, in some instances. The use of the fuzz bass was a nice touch, and that definite "get down and funky bassline" was great as well. The tracks fit together well, yet, my only complaint is that the muted horn was a bit over done. Sure, it had its place, but not in nearly every song. Yes, I bitch about Kenny G as well...LOL
Good work, nonetheless!

My favorite track in this album is number two, "Simple One." The syncopation and the blending of the horn and the piano compel attention--and the ending of the song is wonderful. jthart
(Thanks to Wolfsong the Poet for recommending the music.)
El jazz es el género musical urbano adecuado para retratar los sabores dulces y amargos de la vida. Ejemplo de ello lo tenemos en este disco. Posee la expontaneidad propia de la música en directo.
