"Passage of Time" segna subito la strada, il cammino. "Under Repair" si distende morbida e profonda. "Towards the Light" è un grande mistero. A delicate and mysterious atmosphere surrounds you. There is much astral body in these songs and his human imagination. The past of all human history is written inside you and these sounds and voices provide a fascinating journey. "Passage of Time" marks just the way, the way. I really like. The passage of time is a total dimension. Here, indeed, time may even go backwards. It can also stop. It's delicious as a prayer that comes from heaven. There is warmth and love. "Nature (Mangrove Beach)" is powerful, catch you as the sea. Here you can hear the archetypes of nature. Their extraordinary beauty and magnificence. It's beautiful. "Floating in Sound (Stasis)" takes your mind, there is also fear but it is only an echo of your imagination. "Under Repair" is special, soft and deep. Here you can watch your wounds. If you do this every wound disappear. This is the art of healing; listen and watch. Even this track has much charm. "Space (Inner Outer) is magnificent! Here you can turn into a bird and try the emotion of the birds. You can become a quadrupeds, graze the grass and make milk. Then you can die and discover that death does not exist. "November Weather" is peace like the discovery of death and its extraordinary purity. "Towards the Light" is a great mystery. An ocean of energy and light. A great song that manages to show the highest perception of life. "Dada's Aunt" is moving. I like very much. There is a return to form and to your body. "Chakra" is enchanting. Energy and harmony that enters your body, making it sentient. "Evening Shadows" is sweet as the shadows of the evening. They are caresses of gratitude to light. This is a great album to listen often and with total relaxation.

Profound beauty from the start and immediately the title fits the gorgeous soundscape created by Softspace. The Passage of Time, that inescapable fact of life, that warps and wefts, creating our own individual weaves of life's tapestries. Like parallel universes are merely experential moments of being, that we slip in and out of. Like a polyglot the artist captures the essence of time itself and re-translates it for many ears all over the world, and somehow I imagine that magic transforming itself into much more than one tongue. Again, transcendence is key in the second track, tackling another huge part of everyone's life, whether they are consciously aware or not is a different matter. Such is Nature, as a song, as a reality. In this particular case, rather than take on the whole of the great maternal keeper of our wilder realms and our wild dreams, the focus is a Mangrove Beach. Particularising so, but still putting it into a larger perspective with those beautiful, almost archetypal sounds. From the croaking of a small, sticky frog on the frond of a fern, to the greater machinations of nature's millstones. A milestone in itself. Fantastic. Floating in Sound (Stasis) encapsulates the artist themselves, perhaps only for a few minutes a sense of personality. A sense of the personality of a listener hopefully, who like me, is transported into another state of being through the transcendant sounds created thus. A dream of a track, a dream in a track, a track of a dream. A reflection on an essence of being and existence, floating within and without. A double whammy for me and I hope you too. A mirror re-adjusting your entire sense of sacred objectivity. The following track, Under Repair, engenders in my mind those occasions when I have stumbled and fallen, then stood up in the face of adversity and stated categorically that I need to recover from the fall. Sometimes the universe places us in a configuration so powerful and all-consuming that we cannot support even ourselves and need a bit of space from such omnipotence. The signs go up, like they do around the holes in our roads, saying beware, under repair. Music as recuperative therapy. Sound as healer. Softspace has the rare ability of capturing essences and maintaining a sound grip on them, over some lengthy moments. Space (Inner Outer) is reiteration of all I have already said so far. And, gives me the opportunity to describe the extent of infinity going in more than one direction. Perhaps intellectually described as epistemology/ontology, the former being a reflection of the inner and an understanding that we know what we know as subjective beings, the latter representing what we think we do know, which sounds similar but it is poles apart. A dichotomy of existence that not all are lucky enough to experience. Unless you regard such an extent as being more of a curse. Different people, different minds. November Weather, the onset of a winter period. Think of a time when that was a potential threat to our very survival. Storing food as best we could, hunkering down for the cold, ice and snow that seemed to bring even Mother Nature to a sleeping stasis, until spring awoke everything afresh. Personally, I prefer the winter being a December baby. The music captures an essence of preparing for hibernation, sometimes the only way to survive. Just go to sleep in a warm den of moss and ferns, with a belly full for sustenance. Then comes spring, and our primitive forefathers found themselves looking Towards the Light, perhaps, otherwise this could be indicative of spiritualism, though a part I disagree with. The majority (a guess) of spiritualist feel driven to send every spirit they encounter towards the light, towards ultimate cessation of an aetheric linking to the planet they once walked upon. Personally, I feel that some of those spirits are meant to remain in order to establish and maintain Gaia's own sense of equilibrium, the Earth's spirit requires assistance and I think it's safe to say that it's off-kilter at the moment, judging by the manifestations of what is currently going on in realtime. Like the song said, war, what is it good for, absolutely nothing, nein absolut nicht. Beautiful, scintillating, aqueous, so begins Dada's Aunt. Lovely structuring on the usual gargantuan scale. The voices pay heed to human relations and the potential for them to be close or, as in my case, necessarily vague. Having both my parents pass, to the light has loosened the cohesiveness that my family once had. Which leaves me with my own tight nucleus of children to care for, with the aid of my wife. Anyway, a classic Softspace track, with wonderful soundscaping and control of the flow of the time it takes the music to run, which in this case seems shorter than the allotted seven minutes. Time flies... Chakra has immediate profundity and refer tacitly to the flow of energy within the self and the tenuous link to the other side. Balance and balance is what this track endeavours to find within itself, as the artist too I suspect. Points in our aura that emanate unconsciously and flow or clog up, like veins and arteries in 'real' space and time. So, as I listen I prepare to clear my energy with some aetheric phlegm. Lord knows I need it and maybe we all do, to varying extents. Then to the final title track, Evening Shadows. A truly beautiful construction and expression of consumate skill in manipulation of electronic equipment to create such musical magic that is inherent, within this album as well as all the others. Nice work Softspace.
