Cercate un disco Jazz vero? Di quelli suonati col cuore? Di quelli che vi lasciano senza fiato ad ogni variazione di ritmo? Di quelli che non vi annoiano mai, perché ad ogni ascolto c'è una nuova nota che prima vi era sfuggita? Smettete di cercare, l'avete trovato. E c'è di più.. è Made In Italy! Paolo Pavan ci regala su Jamendo un disco intenso, vario, quasi commovente. Un susseguirsi di emozioni che lasciano senza fiato. Vi sfido ad ascoltare questo album e a non avere la mente che vola e spazia in alto, molto in alto! Difficile caratterizzarlo, tante sono le variazioni che ci si trovano dentro. Prendetevi una serata tranquilla, luci basse, e mettete su Silents.. che esperienza! Il mio grazie va all'artista che mi ha permesso di fare con lui questo viaggio, regalandomi tante emozioni. Un disco che rimarrà a lungo tra i miei preferiti.

I liken Jamendo to browsing through a record shop; you can spend what seems like forever flicking through albums, getting really bored and wondering why you even came in in the first place when you suddenly find a gem of an LP, making the whole experience worth it. That is exactly how I felt when I came across this. This is probably the first really good jazz album, of any sub-genre, that I've found on Jamendo. And as a lover of contemporary jazz, it only makes the discovery better! The sound is very modern but with nods to the old-school (particularly Blue Night Dance which sounds very similar to the classic standard "Autumn Leaves"). The album is by no means overtly experimental, as I'm sure wasn't the intention, but is an exciting listen nonetheless. Mr Pavan clearly knows how to get to the heart and soul of jazz and, believe me, this album shows it. The musicianship is first-class. What I admire about the artist is that he is prepared to groove with the rest of the band, picking his moments to shine, but being sensitive to the music as each piece requires. The drummer is also top-notch, holding the band together but still picking his moments to branch out. If you like jazz, of any sort, you'll definately not be dissapointed with this excellent example of how good the genre can be. Fantastic stuff.

J'ai bien aimé cet album de jazz. Un bel album ! Je l'ai écouté à la suite de T Monk, et après "the dream Monk" cet album s'écoute avec autant de plaisirs.

This recording is an example of excellent, fiery modern jazz. Very expressive improvisation, dynamic range and the band really cooks together. Some of the tunes are quite experimental in the new-school vein of Kurt Rosenwinkel or Mark Turner, while others are more restrained and traditional. But it never sounds formulaic or contrived. Despite (or perhaps because of) the often-experimental and syncopated improvisation, the cohesiveness of the band as a whole really shines through in this recording. All in all, a solid addition to any modern jazz fan's library.
