simply stunning album to download and enjoy this mans dulcet tones just make the music sounds even better. a man with a great smooth relaxing voice to enjoy.
guitar, instrumental, harp, voice, base, great tunes, tuneful and very enjoyable.
A really nicely produced album so full of 'mellowness' its like wallowing in an enormous fluffy pillow.
Some great tracks to chill to on a summer afternoon.
I have recommended this to my dad who i am sure will appreciate it more than me - i as a mere youngster I enjoy it, I think it's very nice indeed, and much much more of an album I thought it was going to be..
As for being able to spot influences and styles I am not old enough to try - but I will anyway - I'd be putting this on the same shelf as folk, oldies and also 70's.
the sound production is very good and the musicianship (from my limited perspective) is very good too.
Piano, synths, guitar and more combine to make relaxing music.
I would recommend this artist to listen to;
http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/18456 - the golden dawn [folk and psychedelic]
and
http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/17389 - williamson [modern approach to the same brief.
Yet another good reason to stay with Jamendo!
This album's title, 'Deepspacex', may fool some and as the saying goes "Never judge a book by its cover", holds true in this instance too.
The Golden Age of Radio which included the heyday of "American(Music) Standards" is thought of as a simpler more innocent time. The sentiment of the music of that era is well represented in this album; mellow, slow, harmonious and happy. Groups such as the Lettermen who sang in this style come to mind.
Track #1. 'Feeling', sounds as if it were Time Warped out of the late 50s with its easy going refrain and softly strummed guitars.
Track #2. 'Winters Night', carry the theme even further and artists such as Pat Boone come to mind. Track #4. 'Waterville' is such a quiet sweetly composed piece you may hit repeat multiple times before continuing.
It is not until you reach the final two tracks that you remember this album is also classified as Ambient. 'Steel and Sea Breeze', return to a more technological and Trance-like Sound.
Very peaceful music, above all on the acoustic tracks. You really get the vision of beautiful english landscapes, like in "saturnia", or empty beaches in autumn in "sea breeze". That is a tleast what i recalled. If you need some minutes of real relax, well, that's something you have to listen to.
