A worthy succesor to La Vie Sous La Mer.With this album, Mr. McCosar answers some of life's more pressing questions: "To live or love?";"Spirit or Body?';"Paper or Plastic?" In his quest for truth and beauty alongside the muse Euterpe, this artists only fails to deliver on one promise...more cow bell!I sincerly hope this is rectified in his future releases.

Je me suis vraiment fais chier. Par contre, si vous souhaitez écouter ce qu'il y a de pire en matière de son d'orgue, c'est ici. Indéniablement, c'est un bon guitariste, mais je trouve les morceaux peu inspirés. Par contre, de deux choses l'une : Soit c'est un clavier qui joue, soit c'est lui. Dans le premier cas, je lui conseillerai de le remplacer. Dans le deuxième, je lui conseillerai de construire un peu plus ses soli (les doigts qui vont au hasard sur le clavier donne rarement un résultat convainquant) Je trouve les dissonances tout à fait artificielles

I thought this album it was mellow and easy to listen to, my two favorites are The Wind of Distant Planets and Points of Departure. I look forward to hearing more music from this artist.

J'ai mis un peu de temps avant de faire une critique sur le dernier Bruce H McCosar. Sans conteste un de mes artistes favoris sur Jamendo. Alors un troisième album pensez mon plaisir! Comme sur les deux premiers une ambiance personnelle se dégage de l'album. Les titres s'enchainent avec un son nouveau par rapport aux deux autres albums et une harmonie particulièrement travaillée comme toujours chez Bruce. C'est agréable, ça coule tout seul et l'écoute apporte une réelle détente. Une grande douceur et une grande simplicité dans ces titres construits tout en finesse sans jamais tomber dans la facilité ou une forme quelconque de répétition ou de redite musicale. Des mélodies simples et bien senties. Incontestablement du Grand Art ! ps: écoutez aussi "handmade" du même auteur qui est un autre grand album fait avec dépouillement au niveau des instruments pour un résultat plus qu'étonnant.

Bruce delivers a mature album that shows new direction and influence, while retaining all the best qualities of his previous albums. This album certainly shows more progression to synth sounds and programmed rhythms, with some truly awesome and lush pad sounds and quirky effect sounds that generate some extra interest when thrown in the mix with the usual eclectic mix of organs, guitar, bass, piano and such. Bruce also has shown that musicality doesn't always need to be complex, even in the jazz arena, not everything must be in impossible timing signatures and going off all over the map - virtuosity can be a simple group of notes and motifs, not just 32nd notes playing complicated scales. Music like Organometallic and Let It Burn showcase this. Bruce is a virtuoso musician but he can make a 4 note bass line sound mesmeric too ! This album continues to grow on me. I liked it on first play, but I am noticing more and more subtle nuances and variations on a theme with every play. I am certainly a fan of La Vie SOus La Mer and this album, as highlighted in the title (not just metaphorically) is that this is a new exciting adventure, that it is a point of departure, but one that loves and cherishes it's roots and memories and will use that solid foundation to build upon and help to forge a new, different, but equally exciting future path.

Pas de tristesse dans ces musiques, juste de la mélancolie. Toutes les émotions qu'a ressenti l'artiste passent à travers ses mélodies, douces et tranquilles. Un magnifique album qui nous rappelle que la vie n'est qu'un éternel recommencement.

I sure liked "Falling Into the Dream." I could just feel the tension peeling off my shoulders as I listened. There were lots of nice portions to this creative, sweetly uplifting song and it had some length to it also which is helpful. I also especially liked "The Wind of Distant Planets" with its little pops and ticks traveling through the song. I think these songs are a little more complicated than they seem at first listen. They change in flavor and atmosphere as they progress and tell unique stories while retaining their basic integrity. I find myself daydreaming as I listen which just means I am relaxed. I think Bruce does a remarkable job with his artistry. All these songs are so expressive, beautiful, calming and are especially wonderful jazz. They are very fluid and undemanding, yet they are a strong conveyance of his narration.
