Reverberating, almost crackling bass powers its minimalist percussive way into your skull, just to wake your brain up. With a wonderful layering of melodies that fit perfectly well together, nice sense of jazz. Brings to mind Weather Report's Domino Theory... Can it be done? Well this is a damned good go, at the very least and I'm still on the first track. Hermetophilis throbs and tickles percussion, and fanfares to the cause of instrumentalism. Lovely, complex electro with a twisting build of jazz. Grati Gratos rings and resonates, then a nice, lazy percussion and rhythm come into play. Layers of guitar tickles the taste buds and odd electronic sounds ebb and flow. Comes together well. Balamus are the wind chimes that I thought of at the beginning of the last track and lo, there they are, and what a rhythm. What a thoroughly fulfilling track, with lovely guitar noises and a nicely shifting structure. Always something a bit different. Suck On That, on the other hand, is just that at first, in a sonic way. Then drums come and a rattling bass and curious melodies. Tantalising stuff, really like this. Jazz with a pneumatic drill. Lastly, Sambutu rounds up this lovely, little album with a key finish. Almost has a trance-like effect as it rolls around the room. Some lovely intonations on strings, which I think are really the bread-and-butter of not only this track, but all of this album. Brilliant, nice one!-)
