Il ressort une bonne ambiance cyberpunk de cet album très agréable à écouter.
Parfait en fond sonore devant son pc (^_^.

About this album
This mini cd was inspired by the music of Gridlock. It is an experiment because it is based on an irregular rhythm: 11/8, exept the last track. Its mood sonds like ambient - cyberpunk - nocturnal - IDM and tries to transpose in music a strange dream.
The tracks of this album are published under a Creative Commons licence, check the licence associated to each track.

Essendo da poco che bazzico su Jamendo non ho avuto ancora occasione di cimentarmi nell'ascolto approfondito del vasto materiale disponibile. Nessun inizio poteva essere migliore di questo. Arthur Cravan ci dona Set Star, un EP di cinque tracce ambient che gli appassionati del genere non potranno non innamorarsene. Gli elementi sono molto bilanciati e nessun timbro è lasciato al caso, dando così all'ascoltatore un piacere completo durante l'ascolto. Consigliatissimo.

not only nice synth work, but some of the oddest bets. Very strange time signature, and nice break from four-on-the-floor.

Passata la prima traccia di chiaro omaggio gridlockiano lambisce derive apparentabili per densità e malinconia ai primi Autechre (quelli di Amber e Incunabula, per capirci) e per sonorità ai Boards of Canada. Sebbene impersonale, un lavoro di tutto rispetto. Clap clap clap.

Ok. I promised myself to review some other album by Arthur Cravan, so I’m here. It’s all a little bit similar to the previous record I recommended. It’s still Warp, Aphex Twin and Plaid like ambient, the way I like it. The names of the songs are still cryptic (try to say: I quite liked Set Gliese 876 and do not sound retarted ;-) and I like it also. My only reservation is that pieces are to short, so one can’t really get in the mood.(ok, the last one, Set Modular Life is that way, but it’s only one in five). It would work if there were more beats, but with slow chilling-out kind of music we find on Set star it’s a vice.
Ok. The cover is cool in the style that is similar to other covers of Cravan’s records. It’s good, because it works as a kind of trademark.
Overall, it’s an eight. Still looking for a masterpiece from his artist, and still hoping I’ll find one, because I simply enjoy his music.
