Best heavy guitar Ska I've heard this year.

This album is fantastic, the recording quality is not the greatest but the album is still definetly worth a listen. Had the pleasure of seeing these guys live a few times, and they have to have put on one of the best shows i have ever been to. These guys are unreal. Real shame they split up. Also, if you enjoy this, a few of the members joined together to form another band 'San Salvador', who are also very good, not the same style exactly, a little less heavy, but worth a look at.

From song to song I knew not what to expect, and it was good. Download this celebration of piracy and rejoice.

This album is the perfect mix of silly and incredible. I love it!

C’est du ska, on ne peut pas le nier… Cuivres puissants omniprésents, rythmes syncopés, tous les ingrédients sont présents… Mais c’est aussi autre chose que du ska : tout d’abords, l’ensemble est très rock pour du ska classique… Et puis il y a les mélanges avec d’autres styles – chanson de marins (Scourge of the Black Spot), punk rock (Walk Ye the Plank, Global Domination…), chants rap à la RunDMC (232 Degrees), reggae (The Payoff) pour ne citer que ceux-là… Si vous aimez les morceaux qui ont un gros son, qui ont la pêche, qui bougent, vous trouverez forcément des choses intéressantes sur cet album… Il y a aussi quelques singles de ce groupe sur Jamendo qui sont tout aussi bons. Seul regret : je suis allé sur leur page Myspace où j’ai appris que ce groupe s’est séparé en 2007. C’est vraiment dommage…

This album hasn't budged from the top ten of my listen list since 3 years. So hear me out, this is not an impulse review. I just can't seem to get tired of it. After a few weeks, I knew all the catchy songs by heart, and still now I'm discovering the hidden gems. It's really as perfect a balance as you can get. The theme of the album is something that might not satisfy your taste, but hey, there IS a theme, and it's pretty consistent. Let's face it, there is no running away. The world needs you, people. If you can't reform, just start a new project that will deliver the same kind of punch. Sounds like chicken nous installe confortablement dès l'intro dans l'ambiance amorcé par la pochette et le titre de l'album (des pirates australiens ?) pour ensuite nous lacher du ska bien lourd mais malheureusement peu inspiré, si bien qu'on se retrouve souvent sur des refrain complètement cliché. Heureusement les clichés varient de sorte a laisser paraitre des influences aussi bien pop punk que punk hardcore (le debut de Caution! rappelle vraiment les dead kennedys), mais on se retrouve finalement toujours sur des morceau de types similaires. Quelques morceaux font exeption à la règle et rafraichissent un peu l'ensemble comme l'exellent The Payoff ou encore Scourge of the Black Spot qui revient sur le theme de l'intro. En bref: un album bien sympathique dans son genre mais malgré ça dispensable car il manque le petit quelque chose qui donne vie aux albums libres (peux etre cela vient-il du fait que cet album n'ais été publié sur jamendo qu'apres la séparation du groupe et qu'il n'a donc pas été conçu comme de la musique libre)
