Starts with Sample4U is classic trance style, kind of the new old wave!-) LOL
To be fair, I liked a lot of the sounds in here, there was a nice experimental sense to the movement, at the time and it, in another sense, remains appealing for me. Not the neighbours, just me. It's a high BPM with typical percussion, including the outbursts of drum noise. The synth is classic and done very well here, and the mix is as varied as it needed to be. I seem to remember having a very particular eye for music;-)
Suite 4 Network, is a warmed up version, a more amenable one. The synths rolls are lovely and I loved the changes between the 'temperature' of a place due simply to tunes as minimalistic as this really is.
Network All Mix starts with some nice scratching and then the itch gets you, same way every time and this is the problem, in that it is strictly speaking a very bounded genre, sonic bondage! Retour Tekos presents us with the more experimental side to the category, not so crazy, but still crazy enough! It's a nice piece of hard techno, nice fast percussion and intense synthology going on. Or should that have been synthonomics? It was supposed to sound different when it was free, but isn't that just applicable to anything free, as much as the maxim is a fact as it is a myth.
Débilité Mental jingles into action, with that strong fast beat, synths and other sounds begin to join the musical throng, then there's that musical skip after synth overload solo. Now it's a fatter, thicker track, harder, louder. Big voice sample. Then it takes a break and diversifies with sound, quite mental in its vocalisation. FL8 XXLRX next starts much more slowly with ace synths building the track. A cybernetic conversation goes on in various tones and an overall presentation with is much more readily amenable. My favourite so far. This is a good techno track that could go a hundred miles an hour if it wanted to but it just cruises. Nice heavy ending.
Puipuiputput2 starts of quite dark, then a relatively mid-pace beat, and lovely squiggles of synth. Drum beat picks up and other sounds start to join in, variations here and there, pitchshifting a bit. Suddenly you realise how quicker the track is beating than it first seemed. Nice synth break about halfway and then into a slightly different variation, and a Star Trek sound byte of all things! Ui Defoncé Fair Soufrir keeps up the beat into a fairly mediocre track, standard structure and sound. Then Ui Defoncé!!! Slightly similar beat but a totally different atmosphere, more open, minimalist synth work.
All in all, it does what it says it does and rather well for its', as I said somewhat limited repertoire of structure and sound. FL8 XXLRX was my favourite for sure, definitely have more of that stuff!-)
