About this album

  • Updated: 16/09/2006

They're at it again!

Margin of Safety is on the (supposedly) final stages of making their first composed album. Meanwhile they keep recording rehearsals and mainly the jam/improv parts of them.

Where's the Station? is meaner than its predecessor. The sound is stripped to bare bones as the guitarist and bass player both use a Musicman sixty-five amp, a beast of terror in its unforgiving nature and tonal bliss. The customed kit of Ludwig drums blast and roll in precise definition.

"Where's the Station?" is the question that pops up at every improvisation, either shouted out in panic and fear, or just as an thought to keep you on your toes and ready to switch gears.

The jams are recorded with a Røde NT3 stereopair.

You know, it's always a pleasure to hear from you guys. This new album is a great continuation of the debut one, same excellent level of playing, same 60's and 70's references : Pink Floyd, Crimson, Ten Years Afters, etc... - Is it Pink Yet has even something of the Doors during their L.A. Woman Era. The guitar inferno at the end of Disco Pneumonia is a real bliss for the ears, if I didn't know it was improvised, I would say that it's a very well written piece of organised mayhem. Very climatic. To put the cherry on the top, even if it's a "live in studio" recording, the production is really excellent, and can easily match any of the most minutiously produced stuff one can find on Jamendo. I'll definetely be waiting for your first album of composed music.

Nice sounding album. I especially like the bass. A bit too uninspired guitar playing though. Give the bass more room is my opinion. Not really progressive according to me, more random pluckin.

Chitarra eccessiva e confusa, a tratti fastidiosa e rindondante... In ogni caso un applauso all'impegno! JAMENDO: la rivoluzione musicale inizia da te!
