About this album

Part of the Crap Art: Album A Day project challenge thing. Sometimes it feels like I create albums in just a day but I generally don't write and record more than one song a day and I tend to not do both things in one day anyway, unless the song, music and lyrics, is entirely improvised on the spot, so I just wanted to see if I was up to the challenge of writing and recording an entire album in one day and ideas always pop into my head that I never get around to doing anything with, so if this was like any other day and my brain didn't just suddenly go empty, I knew I should be able to pull it off.

Also: apparently being under a deadline causes the giggles because there wasn't a song I was attempting to record that didn't feel like I was about to start laughing at any moment and a couple songs seemed like I was never going to finish recording them because I was breaking out in laughter particularly "Burning Like Autumn Leaves in an Open Wound" which I reference in a couple ad-libs and there is laughing on the track but I think most of it that actually made it into the song was sarcasm from the annoyance and the name seems like a perfect title for the song because thats what the recording process felt like, it was getting so frustrating.

Self described as "Crap Art" is accurate - but that being said - it still takes a power of will and spirit to assemble, mix, record, title, come up with a graphic cover, and discover a name for your band or project - This material lends an atmosphere of destitute burnouts with a jingle jang, squeeky cup and straw from a fast food joint, real handclaps, a wheezy harmonica, and mouthful of marbles like an old prospector and a mule that fried a few too many. I thought of the Residents, Tom Waits, and just spontaneous 420 jams that can happen just for something to do. Why not?
