Interessante Stimme, gute Sounds, stimmige Aufnahmen.

Also, nochmal ab ins Studio und dann wirds groß.

Fresh synth-band

This band has a good overall sound with powerful bass synthesizers mixed with more conventional natural drums and electric guitar similar to an artist like Ladytron, but it's not mixed to it's true potential. While I'm not advocating joining the loudness war, a slightly compressed (tube compression preferably for digital synths) sound on the bass synthesizer ala Ladytron would create a much fuller 'disco-filling' sound. Also the drum mix is skewed as the hi-hats are too high in the mix (especially on the first track). Being so loud in the mix they end up being disconcerting, especially in more complex drum passages where a few hits are slightly off-time. If they were softer sounding the groove would remain. With the cymbals also being too high in the mix, the drums seem too treble-centric. Despite this critique of the technical side of this release, the songwriting is very moody, as are the synths, and they create a powerful backdrop for the gripping yet sombering feeling of the songs. If you like Interpol, Ladytron, The Editors (I'm not really a fan) or indie with conviction (before pretentious disco fashionistas took over) then this is certainly worth a listen.

This album has a good vibe to it in general. The sound is a bit weird (many SFX) but sort with the synthesizer effects sort of works. I do believe theres are a good market for a band like this, even when its more of a cult following. In general, nice album with a good chance to develop a nice following. Other advice, I got no tags for this record, making it hard to find if you search the Jamendo albums, don't know if it's just me, but a tag or two might help to get the record out there.

I am an admirer of the UK's choice in music style. But that not by far is the only reason why this band has caught my attention: originality, professionalism and adequacy - these are the three whales atoms stand on. Felling a bit nostalgic about Depeche Mode's earlier years? Then you ought to check this one out.
