I really enjoyed this album, a particular favorite was dirk the turtle boy, reminded me of Coil. Its great to hear such a diverse album in all its aspects. And a credit to the artist.

Challenging and imaginative, yet doesn't quite hold up to repeated listens

Crazy stuff :-) Very challenging stuff, wonderfully averting any semblance of 'background music'. A very diverse collection - possibly too diverse? Difficult to judge as presumably a statement is being made here about variety. I'm going to have to look at each track really: "Love Song" is well-titled, and actually appears to contain relatively little material and a lot of repetition. It stays interesting by virtue of rich sounds and sheer aggressive oddness - a great effect for the first listens, but one that diminishes with repeated listens. "67 out of 72" sounds like a 20th-century experimental classical piece. The relatively 'primitive' programming bizarrely combines this with a video game feel. Hats off for coming up with this combination. The track achieves essentially the same sensory overload over its length, and while there are plenty of ideas I feel like they are all achieving the same thing. Still, it's given me something really new, and I appreciate that! "Dirk The Turtle Boy" is the clear highlight for me. Disorientating stereo production, rich chewable sounds, lots of layers and plenty of ideas. This is a very deranged stream of consciousness and it holds up to repeated listens better than the others. I love the way both sudden transitions and more clear evolution are used. My favourite moment has to be from around 8:00-8:30. wtf?! "That's The Way..." combines the best of the first two tracks, with a nice mix of 'sterilised' kind-of-contrapuntal classical with some mildly disturbing electronic beats. Kudos for making the barlines truly indetectable. There is a regular beat to this thing, but you aren't really meant to get it. To summarise: This album is about giving the listener a really unique and mildly disturbing experience. It's not an emotional journey, you aren't supposed to feel good or relate to it. At the same time there is usually enough repetition to expend the depth of the tracks in a few listens. Listen to it a couple of times, let it change your life or not, then move on to something else. Well worth a go.

Passion in the race and waiting...

"Love song" è un brano elettrico. C'è passione e incitamento come in un cavallo che è pronto a iniziare la sua corsa. Mi piace la presenza della voce nel finale. Infonde molta energia ... la stessa della cover... che fa scattare la sirena di allarme ... è grande! "67 of 72" è un pensiero e una pausa di riflessione.... pensieri che chiedono risposte ed altri pensieri che danno risposta. E' piacevole. "Dirk The Turtle Boy" torna a correre con molta energia. "That's The Way The Insult Humbles" è molto delicata .... sembra raccontare una storia. Questa recensione è anche qui: http://suonolibero.wordpress.com/2008/11/04/subvulture-please-dont-make-me-stand-here-all-damn-night-passion-in-the-race-and-waiting/ "Love song" is an electric track. There is passion and incitement like a horse that is ready to begin his race. I like the voice in the final. Infuses a lot of energy ... the same as the cover ... that triggers the alarm on ... it's great! "67 of 72" is a thought and a pause for reflection .... thoughts seeking answers and other thoughts that give answers. It's nice. "Dirk The Turtle Boy" back to race with a lot of energy. Here are events that capture our attention: 1) The female voice repeats a refrain and the music is particularly attractive. 2) There are voices distorted .... something is happening ... attention is total .... while a male voice enchants you 3) the pace again in time to march ... an extension of sound like a Jumbo Jet and you are in another place. There are horses ... perhaps a circus. 4) a mysterious end makes you want to listen the song again and again. A truly excellent track ... that stops the habit of space-time where we are confined. "That's The Way The Insult Humbles" is very delicate .... seems to tell a story.

An interesting stance to take and one that I feel I appreciated as I listened to the music (see I read the label:). I liked the pace and the space as it was filled with a confident panache. I like to see good things to develop and evolve, music must always have an experimental aspect. It is like assimilating chaos. Here there was a hint of a classical element post-modernised. Overall, I think a job well done. Thanks.

(please excuse my english which can be the worst you ever read and by the way really understandable) It's a very interesting album, mixing pure electronic, games like melodies, hard tech, and I really love the work on some particular sounds (a rich mixture of a synth, some white noise, some reverb, a piece of cut off, a foolish flanger...). There's a lot of work and every track I heard is clean and brilliantly executed (okay, it's for sure the first thing everybody may think when listening a track of this album, but I really thank you for the overall quality) (especially "Dirk The Turtle Boy" which remind me of Aphex Twin's album Druqks and Amon Tobin's work). I feel different "colors" in this album (sometimes quite frightening, sometimes peaceful and relax, it's very fresh. The drums part is like a man siting in his favorite armchair and who lets his minds going there and everywhere, from an idea to another, making breaks, going stressed, breathing and sometimes talking nonsense (if you read until there, you then had a piece of example of what I mean ;). Conclusion : an interesting approach, a good work => well done man.
