About this album

  • Updated: 14/11/2008

after nearly 3 years dedicated to the composition of the 13 tracks in collaboration with other artists...
after the needed professional post-production for all the tracks... expecially for those with self-recorded samples...
after the creation of the artwork, thanks to the magical touch of one of the most incredible digital artists ever...
after 1 year lost waiting for the reply of those few labels to which I sent the demo, labels that didn't spend a minute to reply, also the ones that I thought to be "friends" and to who I asked some feedback even if negative...

... after a very long odissey, in which I definately lost forever any interest in publishing music in ways different than the real hardcore and radical DO IT YOURSELF ... finally, the full cd is here for free download.

if you want to have a physical copy you have just to download the tracks and the cover artwork, then you can burn your personal cd.
if you want you can make also copies for friends. you are welcome to spread it as much you can, as long as you do it for free.

all the tracks are Attribution-Noncommercial-Share Alike 2.0 Generic. they are protected against lucre by Creative Commons (more info).

about the music:

I have always loved collaborations. real time collaborations, internet collaborations, delayed collaborations, remixes, jamming, etc...

this work started in 2004 when I began thinking to an electronic long playing cd made involving some music-lovers I met during my musical experience, people that have at least one important thing in common: an absolute unconditionated and true passion for music.

they are the clusters of my grid.
they are:

- Bbs (musical brother, nuke satori's partner, great friend in music and life)
- Bruno Dorella (my real musical guru, main father of all my discography with his label "Bar la Muerte", always present and encouraging my musical experiments)
- Kimera (the frontgirl of some common projects, a sister)
- Femina Faber (the voice of heaven, if there is one)
- Andrea Marutti (the black hole, an inspiration, father of most experimental and crazy underground italian label Afe records)
- Mbst8 (a master in diy music, a life mate, an inspiration)
- Ripit (sonic terrorist from Paris, living in Bruxelles, the machine gun, the one who taught me what to say those suckers that don't appreciate music during livesets and think they can pretend you play something else)
- El Grindo (grindcore guitar bastard, life and work mate in the past 10 years)
- Gusa (singsong shy master, lullaby style, lovely voice)
- Foia (broken drums and crazy breakcore noisemaker)

- Sx (my second half, whohelped me in finding words for the "human cry" track)
- Hyena (musical brother, inspiration, life mate, who gave me loads of hints and energy and recorded Kimera's voice in "la musica tace")
- The Buildzer (the audio engineer who was able to do for each track exactly what I asked for)

about the graphics:

a concept lp based on collaborations needed a very special cover.
for this reason I contacted Erik Natzke, for me one of the most incredible digital minds out there in the matrix.
Erik is an interactive designer who is constantly trying to blur the lines between design and technology. A consistent risk-taker, Erik credits his success with having the willingness to fail and the stubbornness not to give up.

thanks to:

- all the artists involved in the realisation of this lp.
I consider it my best work so far and I wanted to give you all more than this download-page. for the first time in my life I looked for a label and waited months for the reply that didn't come. I did it mostly for you: I wanted a proper production and distribution.
well... it didn't happen. but I think that with a good promotion we will do a better job than any label could do. this is why I put a counter of the downloads for each track. let's see.
by the way I thank you with all my heart for giving a different touch to my music and helped me in evolving my sound.

- all the freeware software developers and productors. you are oxygen, you kick ass, you rule the world and you are the reason why we CAN DO IT. I mean people like Smartelectronix, Dblue, Mda, Darkware, Kt, Magnus, Dfx... I really can't remember you all, but you are the engine producers, the ones who give us the power to evolve and create. you have all my respect and love.

- Erik Natzke, for dressing up this weird child of mine, in your own crazy way.

- Chris of Toolbox Records, the only guy who took time to give me feedback after I asked him help in finding a label for this weird record.
you have been the main spreader of my music in the past years and the only one who spent some time in talking to me in this occasion. thank you so much for understanding and encouraging.

The first track has some very interesting rhythmic structures and an admittedly good vocal layer. Mist has some fantastic sounds involved, very nice mix. Again with some challenging rhythms and form. I love those thundering organ sounds! In.dub.strial is pretty unique stuff, methinks. Track four has a lovely intensity to it and intonation. There is quite a large structure to it and nice variation. 21 Holograms has a gorgeous bassness about it and upper resonances that fill the track out nicely. It whites out near the middle but comes back more firmly, in a sense. Track six just sounds exactly as it should. Ritalin Mind Controllers is another excellent track, very strong and provocative. Fade Away again, excels at being an amenable, very impressive piece of music. Anatta takes the conventional and reworks it, with its own sense of panache. Nice touches. Track ten balances a lovely lyrical strain in amongst a relatively mellow medley of music. The instrumentation takes grip with a bass sound near the middle and then returns to its good work. The eleventh track is exquisite, even though the music is actually quite harsh. And there's something strange about the word 'core'. Pops up a lot. Anyway, I like this one. Human Cry intrigues me because I couldn't anticipate it, nice moves. I also like the level of vocals, equal to the instrumentation, integral to the track (aren't we English good at stating the obvious?). Y'know what I mean, it fits in well. Outsider, in a sense epitomises the whole album. As a concept in the mental travels of a person, it's seems poignant. As a track its potentially descriptive. Stay positive. I liked it, nicely done. Reading about the concept and preparation and execution of the job-in-hand, I think it is a great success. That you've met with a cool reception, I understand completely that can literally hurt, especially if you have devoted at least a modicum of your emotionality. However, there are some bland interpretations of what is commonly known as 'music'. That, unfortunately for the majority is an array of something they are presented with, making it easy enough to buy it from a supermarket. However, in a sense I feel a common denominator in the area of electronic music developing. Something catalytic in a general sense. I think the forum is ideal in a sense, how it interacts with an essentially capitalistic socio-economic structure, is another discussion for elsewhere. At the end of the day, a brilliant collaboration of work has been achieved and to that the least I can do is take off my hat and wish you luck for the future, and any endeavours that may entail. Thanks for sharing.
