Obscurity is not a Virtue is a collection of the best Powder French (Gregg Puchalski) tracks from the 1990's. These are some seriously warped and distorted compositions from the darker realms of reality. Greg seems to have processed just about any sound he could find. The atmospheres are deep and ominous. The disc gets darker with each piece. This is some seriously malevolent minimalism. It is also rare and, ironically, obscure. It is worth making Herculean efforts to locate it! La première, "They Stood Amid the Scattered", est stressante à mon goût. Mais bon il y en a qui aiment ça! - écouter de la musique pour stresser -
Des sons très longs avec beaucoup de résonnance pour une atmosphère profonde, menaçante (?), captivante finalement.
Dites-moi si je me trompe, n'y a-t-il pas des tendances minimalistes? Surtout dans la troisième, "Cynical Twilight".
Voilà donc un album NEZ - l'inverse de ZEN ah ah :P
Une musique hachée, torturée, distordue sans pratiquement aucune mélodie. Vraiment stressant et flippant ! Complétement inamicale....
